For sure, I just found that to be funny. And the more this keeps dragging, the worse Buffalo management looks.

I doubt teams are going to invest in a package of players and commit $50M over 5 years for a player who doesn't want to be there.
This is Eichel saying I'm happy to go anywhere.
I think that's actually huge.

He may end up with a PHD before he's "ready" to leave college and join the Sabres.

Why, we never had the opportunity to draft him.

Just like every year we miss the playoffs, we win the last few meaningless games to screw our draft position. A timeless Flames tradition.

Yes, I get that. Going to Columbus one pick ahead of the Flames with many analysts indicating he was the consensus flames pick. That’s why it stings IMO.

Remember, you don't want to throw games because then the team will get used to it and it'll become the way they play. If they would have done that 10 years ago, this team wouldn't have their winning tradition...of winning games after they've been eliminated from the playoffs.

winning meaningless games after you have been officially eliminated from the playoffs have zero value other than driving down your draft selection.
it will be interesting to watch Coronato and Sillinger's career, knowing a meaningless road win vs Vancouver after the playoff games already started is what swung the pick

I'd like to forget that last year the playoffs were going and some teams were still playing meaningless games.

I'm very interested to watch the two careers as I was hoping for Coronato but have also heard that the Flames were taking Sillinger if he was available. Here's hoping the Flames got lucky.

Your right, you really can’t. This team seems to be built to finished between 14-24th 9/10 seasons. Not good enough to make a run and not bad enough to draft anyone to make a sizeable difference.

I think the Senators are going to really going to regret not taking Sillinger, don’t understand the Boucher pick at all
I don’t see much of a difference between Coronato and Sillinger prospect wise though both are pretty solid

Not exactly newsworthy for a prospect in a NHL camp to have local media suggesting he's going to make the team. Pretty much expected.
But without a single exhibition game played doesn't anyone else think this is premature?
Can't imagine the reaction here if a media member had Pelletier penciled in after a rookie game or two and some skates.
Bottom line it's certainly not something to get wound up about in September after a July draft.

Meh. Even if Sillinger makes the Blue Jackets and has a couple decent seasons before Coronato even plays, that still means nothing. Columbus has zero forward depth and it's actually not a good sign at all that they're already penciling Sillinger in.
