Wow that is great news. I don't really have any expectations but I'm excited to see it.

The challenge will be the gap between the movie special affects and the redone special affects. If they are making this into a 4 hr event for 40 million that isn’t a lot to spend on affects. GOT looked good, but not movie good. So will Game of Thrones special affects mixed with scenes with blockbuster special affects be noticeable?
Justice League was so bad it basically killed the future of 4 of 6 of its characters all of which were supposed to have solo movies or franchises continue on down the road. Batman, Superman, Cyborg, and possibly Flash as well all has their future snuffed out.
Wonder Woman was already released and Aquaman was in the middle of filming when Justice League was released. Who knows what would have happened had they done Justice League directly after BvS. Loom how far Green Lantern set back the DC universe, Justice League would have done the same imo.

They won't need to do all the effects with $40 million though. They already have the ones already in the movie, including in the finale. That's actually a pretty substantial budget for a 1/3 of a movie's special effects.
I guess it would depend on whether they add anything though. For example if they turn it into 5 one hour episodes and add a fight with Darkseid, that 40 million will dry up quick. If it's just finishing scenes already filmed, that were cut, it's lots.

I just watched Dark Phoenix so can rank every X-men film. Looks like overall 4 good ones, 4 okay ones, and 4 giant turds. I'm definitely over this series and hopefully Disney/Marvel takes things in a new direction. Yes I know New Mutants is technically a new X-men movie in the 20th century Fox universe but I have zero interest.
1. Deadpool
2. Logan
3. X2
4. First Class
5. Days of Future Past
6. Deadpool 2
7. X-men
8. The Wolverine
9. Last Stand
10. Apocalypse
11. Origins: Wolverine
12. Dark Phoenix

I usually don't like to do the rankings, but I found it interesting that mine was so much different than yours.
1. Logan
2. Days of Future Past
3. X2
4. Deadpool
5. The Wolverine (the first 3/4 were fantastic, the last 1/4 worst in the franchise)
6. First Class
7. Deadpool 2
8. X-men
9. Dark Pheonix
10. Origins : Wolverine
11. Apocaplyse
12. Last Stand
Stealth edit responding to below : True, those are pretty close, but I should add that the #1 spot is way ahead of #2 and the #12 spot is way below #11.

I wouldn't say our lists are so much different. We have the same bottom 4 just in different order. Also a lot of our picks are very close. The only real discrepancies are Days of Future Past (5 vs 2) and The Wolverine (8 vs 5).

It's too bad they didn't plan out the universe better but at the time movies really only did trilogies and not expansive connected universes. If they sat down with a proper plan the X-Men films and connected universe could have been even better than what we got. Add in the potential for a Fantastic Four crossover and Daredevil the Fox films could of had a End Game type movie with them teaming up to take down Galactus.

That's probably mine too. DOFP and Logan are interchangeable depending on my mood.

I'm pretty happy with this ranking I think.
-DOFP is one of the best comic book movies ever
-Logan was a somewhat risky but great way to salvage what was otherwise a not good 'trilogy' of Wolverine movies
-X2 is I think the best movie outside of DOFP, but I give Logan more credit. X2 was just a great template for how a comic book movie should go down. And the first time Wolverine sticks his claws into someone at the start you are thinking "oh snap here we go".
-Deadpool was again a great original take that stuck close to the comic source like Logan, and did a great job of it.
-X1 beats out First Class for me. The only reason First Class was good was because of the chemistry between Fassbender and McAvoy, I didn't actually think it was that great of a movie, but those guys stole every scene they were in and their acting quality brought it up a few notches (especially Fassbender).
-The rest kind of speak for themselves. DP2 was a good sequel, better than Ultron was to the Avengers. I actually enjoyed The Wolverine, I thought Jackman was great in that movie. But compared to the others its flaws stand out. The rest was crap.
