I just read a book not long ago called Area 51 an uncensored history by Annie Jacobsen. Its a pretty good history of the base, and has some really interesting moment including how the personal messed with the Russian satellite passes.

I heard the army personal actually erected a fake rude flying saucer for google maps, Google had to get permission to take overhead shots from space and the groom lake boys took advantage of the heads up.
Edit:
Found it, large pic

And a pretty no nonsense warning has been posted by the US Military on line.
Now will they shoot people? Probably not unless these idiots cross a well defined "Line in the sand". But I'm betting that the FBI is already monitoring this as is the DIA, and the Air Force is going to have extra personal, and non lethal yet extremely uncomfortable methods of breaking this thing up.
It stops becoming a joke if some of these idiots thing that they can rush one of the most highly classified government facilities in the country.

From what I’m reading elsewhere, the main gate is 15 miles from the base. The area is so sparse, that closing a couple of roads can essentially make a gate 50 miles away where no vehicles could pass, so everyone would have to be on foot... across the desert... in the crazy heat... for 50 miles.
Even if they didn’t close roads, having thousands of people coming down the roads would create a giant traffic jam that would likely cripple cars in the heat.
Most 4x4 vehicles aren’t particularly well suited to travel across the desert either, so that’s not really an option.
Basically, you would have to be a particularly determined bunch to even get to the main gate - and it you did, you would get hit by the military’s non-lethal weapons, which would make you wish you hadn’t gotten that far.
Anyone who is determined enough to continue on would be easy targets for whatever means the military would want to deal with them with.

I just have this image now of these wack jobs doing the 50 mile walk. they get there and the Airforce hits them with the super duper top secret brown note generating sonic crowd control device and thousands simultaneously poop their pants and then have to walk 50 miles back to their cars while baking a stinky brown loaf in their pants.
Conspiracy that.

We need to buy some food trucks and go down there! The aliens are making us charge $20 for a bottle of water.

Sonic weapons are a real thing and can incapacitate. Sometimes ships use them to deter pirates.
They can cause side effects like nausea. Pooping yourself is not that much of a leap.
EDIT: So turns out "brown note" is a thing, but it's fake.

Oh it's real. Taco Corp invented the weapon to hit that note few years ago.

Any organized 'assault' would be countered with road closures, etc. No one is going to make it close to that base unless they want you to.
That area can be deadly for anyone stranded out there, so they would have to block access before it escalates.

I'm trying to decide which are stupider, Area 51 alien conspiracy theorists, or flat earthers.

Probably safe to assume there's quite a bit of overlap on that Venn diagram

So those are overlapping discs and not spheres?
