Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten is on the brink of retirement after 15 season to join ESPN as an analyst for Monday Night Football, league and team sources told ESPN on Friday.
Witten, 35, has a meeting scheduled with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on Friday to inform him of the decision, the sources said. Two sources said Witten's plans won't be final until he receives Jones' blessing, and one source allowed that Witten could always have a last-minute change of heart.
|
Like are the Cowboys the only team retired color analysts can come from or something?
Darryl Johnston, Tony Romo, Troy Aikman, with JImmy Johnson and Michael Irvine in studio.

He came to mini-camp workouts close to 400 pounds.
The 49ers also have concerns about his shoulder surgery.

Done deal.

The San Francisco 49ers have traded offensive tackle Trent Brown and the No. 143 overall pick to the New England Patriots in exchange for the No. 95 overall pick, according to league sources.

Witten was a hell of a player. I am sad to see him go. He was one of the only bright spots from that era of cowboys football. I hope he has success with his future endeavours.

I read that as well. Well either he gets his #### together with BB or he will miss a big payday next year.

The Ravens pick a Tight End whose nickname is Garnet Thor. Little early, but I love this kid already.

Good pass protector, struggles in run blocking.
Had a torn labrum and surgery in the off season but passed his physical.
Good player but didn't have the athletic skill set Shanahan wants for his offensive scheme, is what the 49er beat reporters are saying.

yup, it depends on what scheme you run for sure.
Von Miller loves him:
https://nesn.com/2018/04/nfl-rumors-...de-with-49ers/
Brown, 25, is entering his fourth NFL season. He started every game he played in over the past two seasons (26 in total) and primarily lined up on the right side during his time in San Francisco, where he was tasked with protecting both Brian Hoyer and Jimmy Garoppolo. Denver Broncos star pass rusher Von Miller last summer called the massive Brown, who is listed at 6-foot-8, 355 pounds, “the best right tackle in the National Football League.” “And he may even be a top-five tackle, period, in the National Football League,” Miller told reporters after a joint practice with the 49ers. “There’s not another tackle who’s that tall, that big and can move he way he moves.”

Titans with their second move up of the weekend, and they come away with Rashaan Evans and Harold Landry. I'd say they are killing it.

Embarrassing how? Not sure you would use that word for a domestic or drug offense...
Did he fall in love with a fake internet girl or what?

He got into an altercation at a meeting with the Eagles. Also told the Texans the Eagles provoked him. How fitting he ended up in Washington.
Apparently wasn't truthfully either when he was asked if he was *gay*.

The Ravens brought Zeus's son home.
Call me sentimental, but I thought that was pretty cool.

I just wanted to post on here how proud I am of one of my former students. Nathan Shepherd got picked by the jets in round 3 after a very unusual, winding road to the nfl.
This is a hard working, dedicated, honest, and extremely nice person, and I am very proud of him for achieving his goal.

Interesting to see the Browns trade up to take Antonio Callaway. Him anywhere near Josh Gordon seems like a horrible idea. First round talent, mentality of an idiot.
