Ok deal for the oilers. With their cap issuses they nead cheap role players. Aberg only makes 650,000 next year.

Meh. The Oilers have a lot of "good fourth liners". What they need are second and third liners. This guy is a tweener making league minimum at age 24. Prediction - he will be unsigned after next season.

Don't think so

No kidding. What a kick in the nuts.

The Predators better be careful though....first Matt Hendricks takes a discount to avoid Edmonton and signs in Nashville and they trade him to Hell, and now Aberg gets the 'Hendricks Treatment.'

If the Preds keep trading players to Edmonton they're going to be a much more cautious destination...

I can only imagine the process in Nashville when they have to give poor Adberg the news.

I'd imagine they must deliver the news in person. This is NOT the type of soul-crushing news one delivers over the phone. I figure they would want to do it in a public place, less chance for Adberg to make a scene and/or potentially harm himself or others. Guaranteed they have multiple grief counsellors on-hand for himself and family members. Adberg is then placed in a quiet room, belt and shoe laces removed for personal safety, while he copes with the end of his career in the worst city in the Western Hemisphere. #prayforAdberg

Meanwhile, a photo from the Letestu residence this morning...

70 nhl games, 17 points (playoffs included). Dammit the oilers just made away like bandits!

How does it do much, he's another player that's probably too good for the AHL and not good enough for the NHL. Plus he's waiver eligible.

Of course for the Oilers, he's suddenly a sure fire help. The guy is just another Ty Rattie.

At the same time Letestu was older, and bad, so anything they got for him is a plus.

This goes to show that Chia believes that he doesn't need to rebuild that burning tire fire, a few minor leaguers and McDavid and its not a question of if but how many.

I finally understand why Kruger was fired via Skype: fear of uncontrollable public celebration.

My reply to all. Anything that makes The Oilers quicker and faster, I don’t like. Also, Aberg was quite good for the Preds during their playoff run to the finals. Sometimes moves don’t always appear to be good at first, but work out really well later. I just hope he doesn’t end up like another Patrick Maroon move for them.

He got hot at the right time, the book on him, is that he's soft, can't win a board battle to save his life, and he doesn't show up 95% of the time.

The good news for the Oilers is that they don't have the pressure of drafting their next out of first round bust, they got one ready made.

This guy probably amounts to nothing.

I guess there is always a small chance he could be a Glencross type pick up.

I like that better than a 4th round pick. They probably both have about a 5% chance to amount to something.

If Aberg does turn into something, it will be right away rather than 5 years from now.

Ben Bishop on the wing? He seems to be a decent puck handler.

Maybe Miro Satan is still out there somewhere...

One thing's for sure: Pontus won't pilot the Oilers to the playoffs.
And when he leaves Edmonton, he'll be washing his hands of the whole McJesus situation.

He wears skates and when they send Sleepysheep to the AHL they'll have a new player to bring out to the unwashed and Chia can talk up his playoff experience.
