Genie has received a wild card entry into the Rogers Cup tourney in Montreal - Two more wild cards are up for grabs and I hope Rebecca Marino gets one of them.

Hopefully this latest injury won't derail Genie's participation in the Rogers Cup as she have climbed the rankings considerably in the last few weeks.

Another week, another ATP tour level win for Felix as he dispatches Guido Andreozzi in straight sets (6-3 7-6(3))

Could be a Davis Cup preview coming up as he likely plays Robin Hasse of the Netherlands in the next round. Felix would have played Hasse last week if he hadn't lost to Rublev.

when was the last time Fed played during one of the Toronto years? I was actually surprised he went to Montreal last year cause he seems not to like doing Rogers and Cincy back to back before USO. which sucks cause it's been so long since they got to make that joke about how Rogers Cup really is Roger's Cup.
I'm 98% sure it's not injury related and he just wants to try and conserve and peak for USO, especially when the faster Cincy courts are more like NY. it may backfire though as he might again find that he doesn't run into much quality competition until the 2nd week USO, and then gets surprised by a huge jump in opponent difficulty.
these Canadian kids gotta hurry up though, cause too often I'm finding myself watching these things without much rooting interest with no Fed. sports is pleasure/pain and I wanna keep feeling it after this era of legends is over.

Big chance for Felix tomorrow as Galovic (ranked #267 in the world) upsets Robin Hasse (ranked #38 in the world) in three sets.

Should top players be tested more often than others? It seems to be a hot topic on both tours these days.

I think it's a good way to deploy the testing, yeah. Make it clear to the whole tour that the top guys have a spotlight pointed at them, so if you do manage to get into the top 10 on the strength of PEDs, you're not going to be there for very long.

Too bad for Felix, 11 aces is great, 10 double faults, not so much...

Looks like big changes are coming to the Challenger tour next year. Love the move to clearly define events like they do on the ATP level with 70, 80, 95, 110 and 125 level events now.

look at his frame (and even Denis' still to a degree) compared to the ATP vets...once both of them pack some more meat on those limbs, that will be a huge step in getting them to make consistent runs. is there an equivalent of the Gary Roberts school of fitness for tennis?
