It's always nice seeing Sharapova go down, but even better when Serena is doing the beating.

he's 20 though, I'm not ready to put him in the category of that WTA trio who are all 6-8 years older. if we're in the 2020 season and Zverev is still not seeing week 2 at majors, then maybe there's room to question his potential.
anyone remember what Fed was like before his first Wimbledon trophy? upset Pete in 2001, then proceeded to not make it past the 4th round of any slam for another 2 years, including 3 opening match flops. if we were on CP at the time we might have labelled him Chokerer.

Nobody up for this pretty sick Rafa match? I don't know where Schwartzman is getting all that punch from his 5'7" frame.

This IS and entertaining match though.
Schwartzman probably beats most players today. Unfortunately he gets Nadal

Good riddance to bad garbage with Kyprios. Even worse was the nauseating Connor Mcdavid type commentating by the McEnroe brothers. The guy has literally won nothing in tennis and the type of praise given to him was sickening. "What a team player he is!" and then he is yelling and swearing at his box the very next point after missing an easy smash. haha

As expected it ended up being Edmund. Really good young player.

Dmitrov looks ready for a breakthrough at a major. He was finding his form in 2017 and hasn't missed a beat in Melbourne.

Interesting that Dimitrov beat Kyrgios by the same set scores that Kyrgios beat Tsonga (the guy won won the match won all three tie-breakers and the guy who lost the match won a set 6-4). Just goes to show that these close matches are usually decided by a select few points.

I disagree. Kyrgios did act like a brat in the past however has shown growth and maturity this year. He didn't lose because of being distracted or having a bad attitude, he lost to a better player in a match that could have gone either way. Even McEnroe, who has ripped into him previously, has changed his tune.
Kyrgios does have a big personality which can rub people the wrong way however I think this makes him far more interesting than many of the robotic players on tour. He has gained a lot of fans here this week and I am firmly on the band wagon.

Gaby won!
Kerber vs Hsieh is interesting. Hsieh hits the ball so soft but picks corners.

Is Hsieh using a racquet or a protractor to come up with some of those angles?

The shotmaking in this match is insane. Hsieh is like the female Fabrice Santoro

Meanwhile, it looks like Berdych will dispatch of Fabio Fognini in straight sets barring a big turnaround.

Kerber really gave it everything and solved Hsieh at the end of the 2nd set. Many players would have lost.

And so the loaded bottom half of the draw turns out to be a dud. Given how inevitable a Fed-Nadal rematch seems, looking forward to the actual final of Cilic-Berdych.
