best case scenario: change of scenery allows Lucic to have a dustin brown type resurgence
likely case scenario: two of Mangiapane, Bennett, Ryan are able to carry the line and Lucic adds some screening and facepunching as a Hathaway replacementx

If CapFriendly has the clause information correct, it's a NMC for the entire duration of the contract, but a limited no-trade for the final two seasons.
This is similar to the clause Phaneuf had on his contract, and we know that he had protection from the expansion draft.
Unless CapFriendly is incorrect, Lucic will either be required to be protected in the expansion draft, or he will need to waive the NMC to be exposed.

I don't even care what we got back for Neal, I am just happy to have him gone. He had the worst attitude and looked like a complete disaster of a hockey player all season. Good riddance.

Even assuming Lucic waives his NMC, the Flames are still going to expose some good players.
Protecting Gaudreau, Monahan, Lindholm, Dube, Bennett, Mangiapane, Tkachuk, Valimaki, Andersson, Hanifin, and Rittich leaves Kylington, Backlund, Giordano, and Parsons exposed.
