Hard to convince yourself this is a FOR REAL playoff team when all they're doing is making fundamental baseball mistakes time after time and showing that they are consistently and sustainably not good enough compared to their competition.

Maybe I'm out to lunch, but I still think this is a really good team playing dumb, losing ball. So my unforced errors. A lot of stuff going wrong can be easily fixed. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Just meant 2020 was like 60 games and was a bit of a writeoff season. But yes, they did make a wildcard.

Just giving them a bit of a pass that year.

Oof. Vladdy is awful right now. His contract is going to be an interesting one. He's likely going to be asking in the range of 10 years 350 million. But is he worth it? Outside of 2021 his career OPS is .800. Which is good but not great. His defense is phenomenal and he's such a great dude who loves to play baseball. I adore Vladdy and want him to put it all together. But he can be a frustrating player to watch.

Let’s not forget how bad Bichette looked for most of last season hitting

Vladddy needs to get out of his own head and just play baseball. He’s taking hanging breaking balls and swinging at the pitchers pitches

Chapman and Vlad are playing rough right now. Bichette is the best player on the team atm and it’s not even close. He’s actually got good defensive numbers this year and is on an 8 war pace.

Not sure if it was even a possibility or not, but I really wanted the Jays to send Vladdy + to the Nats for Soto and Bell. Would've instantly addressed the Left/Right imbalance in the lineup and would've avoided the trade for Varsho and signing of Belt. I thought young Superstar for young Superstar may have had some appeal to the Nats.

His defense isn’t phenomenal despite the gold glove. He’s not a particularly good 1b. He’s average but let’s not fool ourself that he’s a great defender out there. At this point I’d feel much more comfortable extending Bo than Vlad. However I think Bo wants to test the FA market more which is a conundrum.
