I'd ask when NFL or NHL start up again, but teams I cheer for in those sports less likely to win than the Jays. It's like why do I even bother watching sports

If things trend this way, I actually think a tear down might make sense. Right now, they are a luxury tax team that is being left in the dust by their division.

Bichette now has cost certainty and it might be the best opportunity to get a massive haul for him that could get them back in the right direction fairly quickly. Gausman’s contract is excellent and he’d be highly sought after. Chappy is good as gone after this season. Springer could see a solid return if he can stay healthy.

They might need to take a couple of steps backward to go forward.

Rogers Centre entertainment has always been aimed at the 8 year old going to their first game. Nothing more.

I think regardless of this years outcome, turnaround or not, Chapman should be walked away from. He's had a career year in a contract year. In Oakland he was always a hidden gem, but when players break out and are looking for their career contract in both term and dollar value, look out. Like any sport with a cap of some sort, offer your franchise players their maxes (in this case Vlad and Bo), and everyone else you move on from if the length is too long.
