"Watch Elon defy the establishment". Tech bros ARE the establishment now, at least in America; he's not some underclass hero fighting the power in any rational person's worldview.
When I was a teen and wished the world was run by nerds, this isn't what I envisioned. I wanted the thoughtful empathetic kind to prosper, instead, it's sociopathic self-absorbed creeps leading morally inept simps.

And what point does all these Musk is fighting the establishment guys realize that Musk is (one of) the richest guys in the world and a ton of his wealth came from the government in form of subsidies and paying SpaceX.
The guy is the elite of the elite. He's not your anti-establishment hero.

Perfect example of Musk being a moron, and his reach to spread his moronicity to his rubes, along with anyone else caught in the shotgun blast of stupidity.
https://twitter.com/user/status/1646450591252770821
Ooo, frightening right? So much so that Musk responded at least 4 times(I think there are a few more in there)!
https://twitter.com/user/status/1646503480335667202
Yes, get your citizen journalists right on that.

Yes, who indeed?

Are you looking for intelligent life around here?

If only we had a vast, near endless resource of knowledge to look it up!
Well, if he, or his army of citizen journalists had access to Google, they may have discovered this:
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/02/b...rs-script.html
Or not, becuase it's NYT, and Musk doesn't consider them journalists. Except they can tell you exactly who and why. It was Sinclair Media, the Conservative leaning broadcast group.

Probably at the same time they realize that Trump isn't actually going to destroy the "deep-state", i.e. never

Musk trolls for the sake of trolling, and because he can do it. His whole Twitter purchase was a 42 billion dollar troll that he did pretty much on a dare.
Case and point, he got pissy that OpenAI went closed source after spending millions on it, a company he co-founded, and bought 10000 GPUs (so much for the prices dropping) to develop a Twitter AI. Seeing as he sees OpenAI as too woke, expect this AI to be a bit more of his own image.
https://arstechnica.com/information-...ct-at-twitter/
Musk literally doesn't care. He will use people like Matt Taibbi who think they are in the in crowd, and just throw him out like a ragdoll on a whim.
He would create the Flat Earther Association spend 100 million on it and proclaim the earth is flat to stir the pot, and that is despite owning SpaceX

^^ that would be funny to see the mental gymnastics that his groupies would attempt to try to defend Musk as a flat-earther.

I listened to that interview live, and that reporter came across as really unprepared. You'd think you'd do a little more homework before that type of interview.

Ya, there are no shortage of racist tweets he could have come prepared with, including ones Musk himself has replied to. Musk pretending they don't exist simply becuase the reporter didn't have them on hand is pretty flimsy, too, though. Like, if someone told me there was a swastika painted on the side of my garage I couldn't see, I'd definitely go take a look. I wouldn't say it isn't there without checking first.

Wait... not to take issue with the sentiment in general but what the heck does "morally inept" mean? How does someone have an aptitude for morality? Is that like being the opposite of a sociopath or is there some specific skill they have? Who is the Lebron James / Wayne Gretzky of morality? Asking the important questions here.

That's because it wasn't a pre-arranged interview - unless you consider 20 minutes enough time to prepare.

100%. He came off as granting too much deference or being too wobbly on his comments. Someone who wasnt prepared and showed in his confidence.

Even if the interview was granted with short notice (which is not uncommon at that level), it was the reporter, who apparently specializes in the tech industry, who approached Musk in the first place looking to setup an interview to talk about his time at Twitter... so you'd assume he'd had some formulated ideas of what he'd want to ask about.
I'm no journalist, or big Musk fan for that matter... just saying that it came across as amateur hour. The guy was stumbling all over the place, and couldn't even answer whether he liked the BBC. Not a good look.

Well, I don't really know how we're judging this but regardless of what the answer is... no, he definitely was not.

Twitter has permanently suspended Tribel’s account because of an exodus over to the rival site. I’m one of the refugees.
