So many of these gun loving Americans have this view of themselves as John Wayne fending off bad guys with their guns in slow motion.

I guess she's blaming gun control zealots for twisting her words and strangely not admitting she misspoke.

That could be a strategy to keep their base frothing at the mouth at the demon, liberal Democrats, but I think it's just substantive stupidity.

It's not really an overreach. It doesn't maintain access for in-clinic abortion procedures; that's not something the President can do without Congress passing a law. I believe it's just reinforcing access to Federally-approved abortion pills and contraception. Those things are approved by the FDA, and I think the Federal Government's position is that states cannot limit access to or ban FDA-approved drugs.

I didn't read any of the specifics, I just meant the continued use of executive orders to expand presidential authority and oversight is worrisome.

So apparently, Uganda discovered gold deposits which are worth over $12T USD on their land.
I wonder when the west is going to give the people of Uganda "freedom" and "democracy"?

If there’s that much would it devalue gold? Not quite as rare….

The amount that has supposedly been discovered I think is on a scale similar to the whole global volume of above-ground gold, so if the extraction costs are lower than current global averages I would say it's pretty fair to expect it will have an impact. Gold's down about $150 since the discovery, but so is silver, so I don't think there's any impact as of yet. I would think the big question will be the extraction costs and how it comes to market.

They'd be smart to pull a 'DeBeers.'
Extract, silo and hide and then dole out to market in small doses.

Yes. And invest in their military.
For context, the value of that gold discovery is equivalent to something like 300 years of their 2021 GDP, which was their all time high GDP as a nation.

Well, yeah.

So does an executive order over ride a Supreme Court ruling?
I was watching a bit of Biden’s speech yesterday and when he talked about women’s rights I could already hear the other side going off about their rights and guns.
It doesn’t help that the SC is so partisan and political, just another arm of government and not really a neutral SC.
