Stop getting excited everyone, we're getting the Reebok Era piping monstrosities with more black and extra large Alberta flags.

My guess is a black pedestal. Pretty safe from a color reverse perspective (something they didn't follow last year).

But taking the golden yellow trim color and making it a primary color, as Reg did above is not out of the question; if a full time 3rd jersey as rumored is also arriving next year, that is also assumebly black, having a black pedestal also released for sale may be oversatuation.

If Lou has anything to say about it, I don't see the Islanders doing anything earth-shattering.

When he was with the Devils, the most they did was wear their red and green retros occasionally.

Last year, the Islanders Reverse Retro was their regular blue jersey with a slightly darker blue and the orange and white stripes reversed. You had to pretty much look at them side-by-side to even see the difference.

I can't see them bringing back the fisherman or the wavy stripes under Lou's watch.

I agree that Lou doesn't want his team wearing anything other than their regular threads, but Islanders ownership and marketing management are cowards for not pushing back. Frankly it's not about what Lou Lamoriello thinks, it's about what will sell.

Too busy. Just a Mish Mash of clashing design elements. Simplicity is key.

I'd like to see the main part of the jersey Black with a Red C myself (might start to look a bit like the canucks skate colors, which IMO is a great jersey). I think there is promise in the pedestal!

When I look at this, my brain sees it as a tiny red Flames jersey in front of a larger black jersey.

I dislike the Leafs, and I dislike Justin Bieber. Now I can dislike them both at the same time:

Quote:
The Toronto Maple Leafs are breaking out another new uniform this month.

The Maple Leafs officially unveiled their threads for the team's "Next Generation" game versus the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday night, debuting a jersey design in collaboration with Justin Bieber's "Drew House" clothing brand.

The sweater has the same outline as the Maple Leafs' normal home and away uniforms except for a black and blue color scheme, with black being the dominant color while all the accents and stripes of the jersey are filled in with a dark blue.

Perhaps the most unique part of the jersey, however, is that it's reversible.

Turn the sweater inside out, and it becomes a Drew House branded Leafs jersey that features the clothing line's black and yellow color scheme and a smaller logo that is meant to look like the Drew House smiley face, albeit with the phrase "LEAFS" serving as the mouth.

Too much black on jerseys just doesn't work.

I hate the pedestal jersey's so much. A horrible/ugly design that represents the bleakest period of Flames history as they became a feeder team for the big money (pre-cap) teams. For me, there is nothing to celebrate about these jerseys.

Now that the Flames home and away are perfect, I don't mind them trying to be creative with a third jersey. Something predominantly yellow might be cool.

Be creative but do it within the established brand and colours, I get that that's not a reverse retro thing to do but it's refreshing to see the Flames only use two jerseys this year, two timeless classics. Don't want to see that messed up too much. Drop the black in the horse head logo and put it on the current red jersey. A 2002 white jersey with no black and a horse head would be interesting too.

I really a fan of the Cowboys inspiration, but since it's a mash-up with the Flames, I thought I'd add gold back to Chris' work.

The 1972 Red Atlanta is also pretty cool. They had that striping for one season.

And what with the NY Islanders celebrating their 50th Anniversary next season, I wouldn't be surprised to see their Expansion twin the Flames do a One-Off Atlanta logo jersey for one or more of their matchups.

The more I think of it, there's likely to be some acknowledgement of the Atlanta/Calgary franchise's 50th Anniversary in some manner. Maybe that'll be the Reverse Retro?
