Apparently you also need a license to have an NHL pool per the AGLC. Ya, good luck with that one.

I tried google, but I still have no idea what a waffle draw is and how it differs from a raffle...

I tried Googling that as well. My guess is that it's a case of "raffles aren't legal, but if we don't call it a raffle that makes it legal".

As far as I can tell, the difference is the word "waffle" won't come up on a keyword search on Facebook for "raffle"

So if I'm reading this correctly, every workplace that does 50/50 draws or wine survivor is doing so illegally? Wow.

Yeah that's exactly it. Whatever automated system they use to shut down raffles on FB doesn't detect waffle pages so while they can still get shut down it takes someone reporting them.

AGLC won't care what you call them if the mechanics are exactly the same.
