Why do it then? Why? This is just setting Brouwer up to fail. Why?

Well like all teams we could look back at many games...like all teams that miss
how about missing 5 empty nets against the Wild?
Thing is this game is over, cant do anything about it now

I said it last PGT and ill say it again: Monahan, Backlund and Ferland were all terrible again tonight. This team will not go anywhere unless these three get going.

So you were talking about them being much better on the road? Explain.

I knew after watching the first period that it was going to be one of those games. Poor effort against a poor team, but with a win against the Coilers, I'll forgive them.

Not a good effort but you’d think we were pointless in 9 straight with some of the reactions here.
This was a prototypical trap game with two big divisional games coming up. Personally I’d rather a #### effort tonight be a bit of a wake up call ahead of the next two.

This. This is it exactly. I want to like this guy so badly but I just can't. I've said it before and I'll say it again. He has a good hockey mind and he's a great communicator. The perfect assistant coach. He has zero in game management skills. That decision tonight was brain dead. Not a single other coach in this league plays that the way Gulutzan did. Not one. His lack of feel for the game will be our ondoing. He will never have playoff success because he not only gets outcoached by the opposition. He outcoaches himself.

I get that. But there is a reason Buffalo is nearly last in the NHL we should have won this game. Let's put it this way we didn't lose because they were great.

How many stick-throws do you figure? How much distance do you think he can get? Second bowl? Or maybe just far enough to hit whoever put Brouwer out there on the PK to lose 3 draws in a row?

How can anyone defend Gully's stupidity having his regular PK unit in OT out for an exhausting full 1:30 and he has the chance 3 times to change them off. Brower isn't even a friggin Center and basically conceded the draws.
5 seconds left and no Monahan or Janko to win that draw.
Pure and simple Gully is a hockey idiot.
He got what he deserved tonight with that pylon decision.
Brouwer went 0 for 3 on draws as expected that's not on him he isn't a center but our idiot coaching staff had 3 times to fix with either Monahan Janko or Bennett he ignored all logic. Get your reg OT lineup out there and ready to go for that 5 seconds left draw. Gulutzan suuuuuuuucks and I seriously did think even he was this stupid.
Face the media and your players Gulutzan about this baffling and idiotic decision of yours.

Sabres have also beaten the playoff bound Devils (twice), Blue Jackets (twice), Bruins and Avalanche. Any team can put up a crap show against bottom feeders from time to time.

I'll let it go if they take the next two. Beating direct competition and the Oilers matters more to me than stinking it up against an eastern lottery team, even though the latter is pretty annoying.

Coaching is still this team's Achilles heel... they may do well in spite of this (I hope), but it's just too bad we don't have a Sutter, Laviolette, Gallant, Quenneville, Trotz, or Babcock... even Deboer, maybe... anyway, someone at that level... this team, currently, has to win with subpar coaching... each team has their strengths and weaknesses, so I'm not saying the Flames are doomed... but in my opinion, coaching is the weakness of this team.
