Hear me out on this:
1. Neal has become the new brouwer
2. Brouwer has somehow pulled a space jam and stole Neal's skill when he left town and thus has extended his playing career
3. Neal fights Brouwer
4. ...
5. Neal is back baby!

4 would be that Brouwer destroys Neal in a fight. He's darn good at it, and Neal doesn't fight much - he last fought Jonathan Toews to a draw in 2016.

I think its at the point where Bill has lost confidence in Smith. If that's the case, then Brad needs to be working the phones overtime.

Don't care if he loses, just needs to get the osmosis of talent back to him. if he has to take a punch in the face so be it.

Is he a good PK guy or is Rittich making more saves for him than others?
He's their best for playing with edge, but the worst forward on the team for creating offense.

How many goals against has he actually been out for? (tried to find it myself but couldn't). I'm guessing the numbers are small, and one or two more goals would change the results numbers significantly.

Not sure why Hathaway will sit while Eat Bread plays. I totally get the Shillington switch tho.

Peters has been pretty consistent about rotating the bottom-line players in-and-out. I have been really impressed by Hathaway this season, who finally looks like an NHL player for the first time, but I also don't believe he is so good that the team cannot afford to have him sitting every now and then.

I think they want some ice time for Mangipane. Maybe Haths a little banged up as well? Who knows. It is a tad confusing. But, Peters seems to know what he is doing so let's see what the bread man has. Not expecting much.
Is he still searching for his first goal too?

I have a strong feeling that after this discussion, Eat Bread scores tonight. Or at least gets a point. I'm guessing he scores...

Nobody should want Smith in tonight against Florida. The team can score, it isn’t a problem. The real problem has been defense. There simply isn’t much team defense. Even good individual defenders look lost in Boughner’s system.
However, put Smith in tonight and the Panthers will likely out score their defensive issues. Let him play against the Kings or another low scoring team.

They sure didn't look like scorers in OT last night.

11th in GF per game with the 4th best PP. They are struggling right now, but they consistently outshoot and outskate their opponents and put the puck in the net. Last night was the worst effort I’ve seen from them all season. Playing not to lose instead of going for the win because they have good shootout players.
They aren’t very good this year (missing Trocheck hurts quite a bit), but it would be foolish to take them lightly. Plenty of talent on that team.

Who knows how many games BSD can play before he reaches a overworked state. He's never played that many games, but that seems a silly reason to not give him a lot of starts. Only way to find out if he can handle it is by putting him through it.
Crazy to think if we had BSD as the starter and had a competent backup for him we would probably be up in Tampa point territory.

Not taking them lightly. But boy did they look bad (I thought they'd dominate OT).
Outskate and outshoot their opponent? Challenge accepted.

Hathaway is ranked 1st in terms of results, but Jankowski is second in results, and 1st or 2nd in every measure of what happens when he's on the ice for example (shorthanded)

I guess we know the PK sucked early on (72% the first 12 games) and since the changes to personnel were made, it has been roughly league average (82% over the last 32 games). For me, Hathaway was part of the group that turned it around, so the prospect of him sitting at this point seems a little off over some of the other candidates.
It could simply be a rest or maintenance thing but either way I suspect he'll be right back in the lineup if he actually doesn't dress tonight. I feel he's part of the group who have earned the right to play everyday based on his contributions to the PK thus far alone.
