I doubt if you could get a professional hockey team to say " sure thing coach we'll go out and lose for you". The players would never do it and I think there would be more than a disgruntled goalie piping up about it. Wonder what the other players think of this comment.

There's a difference between management designing their team to fail and telling your players to lose. Is what the Sabres did still bad enough to be called tanking? Maybe, but I in no way believe that they told their players and coaches to go out and lose.
