Tough night for Parsons - 5GA on 29 shots. Heat lose 6-4 to the Condors. On the bright side Foo and Eatbread each with 1g/1a.

Seems like Ollas Matsson is a regular scratch. To bad, had hoped he would shine with his size.

Parsons getting absolutely lit up in the AHL so far.
Only 20 though and small sample size. Nothing to be worried about.

I bet in the long run this will be a good learning experience for Parsons. Even in the A you need to hit another level of focus and play. He'll come out better for it.

Mike Smith began his career in Dallas, where he was thought of highly enough to be traded for Brad Richards in the prime of his career. He spent three years in Tampa and never played more than 42 games.
Smith established himself as a full-time starter when he was 29. The notion of any of our goalies being remotely close to ready was always foolish.

Ditto Tim Thomas, late bloomer and turned out great.

The best goalie to ever live, Dominik Hasek, didn't become a starter until 29. Figure that one out.

It is a rare goalie that is NHL-ready the season after the draft. I can't think of any off-hand that made the jump right away. Other than that, some make it in after a few seasons, others bounce around and finally make it in the late 20's.
For me, there is no timeline for any of the goalie prospects. When they get a chance, they will either sink or swim. I do think that both Rittich and Gillies have shown quite a lot thus far to make me think that with additional development, either one of them COULD end up being a starter, but I think either of them already make for a decent enough back-up.
Parsons - and even MacDonald and Schneider - might end up making it themselves. I don't count anyone out at this point, even if they have looked really shaky. They may not make it in the Flames' organization, but given enough development time, who really knows?
I would bet that Parsons eventually does make it. His compete level is just too good. He'll adjust.

Held on for a 3-1 win. Foo got his second of the night to seal it in the empty net.

After a slow start Foo is now on 18 goals for the season. Definitely looking worth the contract at this point.
Brett Pollock is on a nice little streak too with a bundle of points in his last few games.

Farragher with several breakaway saves. Looked very steady.
Pollock with a very nice backhand pass to a streaking Foo for the first goal.

Does anyone know what’s up with Mangiapane? He’s not playing again
2a for Kylington and a pretty goal by Andersson so far

Heat win 6-2. Ryan Faragher with another good stat line in the win. He has a .949 save percentage in 6 games with Stockton since being loaned to them from ECHL to help with injuries. Anybody have more info on this guy?. Actually seen him play? He might be worth a minor league contract next year.

I know...it’s been a long, disappointing hockey season, and life DOES suck, but the Heat did win 3-1 tonight. Gillies with the win.
Foo, Pollack, and Kylington with goals.
