"Fun hard" vs "Stupid hard"

The hardest modern day game I've played was Call of Duty World at War for the PS3

Most of the game if fun hard. Heart of the Reich is snap your controller in half then throw it through your television hard.

More specifically, this is what I am talking about. Getting the third and fourth guns is ridiculous.

If it lasts 4 hours or more it's gone from fun hard to stupid hard and you need to contact a medical professional.



In terms of games, I agree with the OP -- fun hard makes you think harder and become more strategic to deal with believable difficulties. Stupid hard makes you rely on luck or glitches/cheats to overcome ridiculous challenges (see: t-shirt tanks, super sniper general infantry, or 200 hp, spell resistant house cats).

When I was a kid I wanted to be a stuntman. While many hated it, the original stuntman on the ps2 remains one if my favorites of all time. Fun hard to the max. I spent soooo long getting 100% accuracy on all stunts. Took me months. It was perfect.

No one here plays Metal Slug? That game is painful on the normal difficulty. If they would just tone it down a bit, the game would be fun. Instead, it is frustratingly hard, even if you try to memorize the level, which I think is impossible.

Frig, we just played that today...so frustrating. I don't think we made it through the second boss before we got pissed and turned it off.
