Default "Box" - File sharing program

Anyone use this? I have a Dropbox account that I use mainly for work, and I don't want to upload personal stuff to it. I could run shared folders but its not simple enough. Decided to try Box, and I ended up with 50GB of lifetime storage. Pretty damn good. That would be 45GB more than I have with Dropbox.

Seems to not have the same functionality as Dropbox. With the free account I can't create a public link that people can use to download public files in a simple way. They have to go through the Box site instead.

Either way, the 50GB is nice. Especially for photo uploads.

After playing around with it a bit, I don't like it. The inability to generate a direct download breaks it for me. The extra space is nice, but I don't need it. I barely use 200MB right now, and I doubt I'll go over 1GB in the near future.

I share stuff, then delete it when I'm done, and if anything I'll just upgrade my space on Dropbox if I have too.

So I went and deleted my Box account. Ignore the first 2 posts.

If you are the one who suggested the Asus (I think it was you), thanks!

Ya, I tried to get into Box because of its increased storage space. Like you, I found the inability to directly download a killer. I also found it's tree system kind of odd, and for me the 'viewing' system can be a bit glitchy. Dropbox is far superior.

However, I still use my Box account with my iPad reader apps. I appreciate I can do the same with Dropbox though, but this helps keep my Dropbox folder cleaner and just for work.

Yep, know exactly what you mean. Dropbox is just better. I don't really get why they would offer 50GB storage, but turn off features like direct linking. Dropbox has the better idea. Offer the features, and get people to pay for more storage. Better for the end user.
