Yea I only have seen the Abyss so far but heard the same thing about Aliens and True Lies. I have only seen True Lies on DVD so I hope it's at least better than that, maybe I will have to spin it on Laserdisc. I've heard Aliens is better on Blu Ray but I'm still going to watch and I'll report back what I notice, although I'm probably not very reliable I'm impressed but almost everything

I should also add, I could see how if you saw Abyss in theaters or VHS back in the day how this transfer might be jarring. It certainly doesn't look like a movie released in 1989, it looks like it just came out yesterday it's so clean. If that's a good or bad thing, I'll leave that up to you.

The Abyss is one of my top 10 favorite movies. Now I need to watch it in 4k. Dreamy.

Moonfall fell on the side of so dumb it was kind of fun for me.

Sounds like Ghostbusters was garb but people are forgiving it because of the cast. At least that's the impression I get.
It was cobbled together so quickly on the heels of that reboot that there's no way it was going to be good. We need to stop rewarding studios for half-arsed attempts to milk the cash cow.
With the GB faithful they're practically shooting fish in a barrel too. Flash a Murray cameo and it's game over.

Moonfall was one of those absurd stupid-fun pandemic movies that everybody stuck at home was watching at the same time. Kind of like Greenland (I think that's what it was called? with Gerard Butler)

There's still never been a luckier timed media release than Tiger King.

I saw Poor Things and enjoyed it. I found Mark Ruffalo to be hilarious, especially the part when he and Emma Stone get to Paris, a dog comes up to him on a park bench and he's so bitter by that point that he says "I'll f***ing kick your dog to death" to it's owner. I've been laughing at his delivery of that line for days now.

The dance number in PT doesn't get nearly enough love.
And the deck scene where Bella is sitting with her new friends and Ruffalo's character confronts her was great. The whole escapade with Wedderbum and Baxter is hysterical. It's that type of funny on a level so deep you just can't scratch it.

Are you concerned that you're never going to Financially Recover from this?
Haha!!
Anyways, I LOVED Tiger King but for essentially a 'Meta' reason.
I really want a Documentary on the making of Tiger King.
As someone who loves Documentaries, I'd really love to know the 'Behind the Scenes' on this because this is a Documentary crew that came in to make a Documentary on Private Zoos and Exotic animals being held in essentially unregulated environments and then....things just went straight off the rails.
You've got Cults, murder plots, some light slavery, polygamy and on and on. They went in to do one thing, peeled back a wee little corner of the tapestry and then everything just went straight to hell at light-speed.
"WTF is going on here??"
I mean, that must have been just wild for that group of people. Could you imagine just watching as all this madness unfolded in front of your eyes? It must have been fascinating and insane.
They went in to make a show about one thing and everything just went batcrap insane at the drop of a hat.
I cant even imagine what that experience must have been like for those people.
Thats what I want to see. Oh...and if somehow, inexplicably Trump gets re-elected, I want him to see him Pardon Joe Exotic and then see Joe run for President.
Lets introduce a little Anarchy!
"America will never recover from this!"

Tiger King was a show you had to be in on fairly early. The hype shot up pretty quickly and couldn't live up to the hype it was receiving.

Never watched Tiger King, was too busy at the time.
Does it still hold up on its own merits or was it more of a 'time and a place' thing?

I may have hyped it up for myself but I was disappointed in Late Night With the Devil. A creative premise and highly stylized but I thought it had tonal issues in that it wasn't scary enough to terrify, or funny or enough for a comedy.
It was nice to see David Dastmalchian in a starring role, and he was good, but I was hoping he'd be given more to do. I didn't care for any of the side characters except for the girl, who was fantastic.
But, hey, it's got 95% on RT so what do I know?
