I cannot get it to work with my Shaw account. Does anyone know what smtp server I need to use? I have used shawmail.cg.shawcable.net but it takes too long to respond and I have also used smtip.shaw.ca (the defalut) but that does not work.
You might try smtp.shaw.ca, but I doubt that will work. According to their website they do not have any SMTP servers that are accessable to the outside of their network (i.e. you have to be on a shaw connection to access them, which Google's servers are not).
To send email you must use the outgoing mail server settings of the Internet connection you are connected to, you cannot use Shaw’s outgoing server when not on a Shaw Internet connection.
