It was only casual American fans and those poor souls who believe getting cancer automatically makes someone a noble person who raised Armstrong into a God.

Uh huh.

And yet the Greatest Cyclist of all time is an untrustworthy fiend.

Beware the two-wheeled Devils.

But your dog's performance would be award winning.

What I was trying to distinguish is that only close contacts of the case need to self isolate. In Alberta and it appears BC as well it’s people who share a class or a Bus within a certain distance with the Covid case are close contacts rather than all students. And schools have been extra cautious in sending home more than just close contacts. So there could be cases where you are sent home but not required to isolate.

But as you said they were sent home to isolate so in that case would mean they were close contacts.

the info i have about the french school comes from a contact tracer and from another friend of ours who has a contact inside the school....

the virus was introduced to the school from a family with more than 1 child enrolled in the school (so exposure in more than 1 class). at least 1 teacher is infected and now multiple students.
the school had NOT been enforcing hand washing, distancing or mask wearing.
i think one thing i should point out is that this school (being an all french school) is not part of school district 23 (which is the central okanagan). they are in their own 'special' district for the "all french schools" in bc. i don't know if they have different rules than the other school districts (they shouldn't).

i know for our kids they wash their hands every time they re-enter their classroom (after recess, any classroom changes (coming back from music or gym), going to the bathroom, etc). they are also in cohorts and are not allowed to mix with students outside of their cohorts. so recess/lunches are staggered, certain cohorts are only allowed in certain areas of the schoolyard when outside, etc. my wife is also a teacher and her school the staff have to follow the same rules. when in the staff room, teachers are only allowed to be around teachers from the same cohort, etc.

that's what i know so far - i will add more details if i get any.

Oh boy. Here we go.

Everyone had an opinion. I happen to very much like the time change. I could post this in the WRMH thread.

I was just thinking the same thing this morning. Who wouldn't rather have the extra hour of light at the end of the day than the beginning? It doesn't get light until 9AM...who cares. But having it stay light until at least 5:30ish in December/January...game changer.

Just think, you wouldn't have to get up at 5AM to get first tracks at Louise. Sleep in until 6, get to the hill for 9AM, and lifts open at 9:30. Doesn't that sound more civilized?

I feel like the vast majority of people at this point are on side with permanent DST. We should just do it.

Attn losers of calgary. Stop breaking into my car and stealing my f'ing gummi bears and dog leashes. My doors are not locked. My f'ing windows cost 500 to replace every time. My dog leash is 40 bucks. The gummies are 2. If you'd like, we can split this fairly. Leave your name and a reasonable location I can drop off your 270 dollars and I will include an unopened bag of gummi bears for you. And as a further token of my appreciation, I for sure won't kill you with my snow brush...which you stupidly left behind in a car with no windows leaving me to imagine my own discretionary use for it.

Buying a yacht was the first thing my family did upon arriving to Calgary.

Needless to say, Sikome Lake was entirely misrepresented.

They dont even have a boat launch. If you were to put a Yacht into Sikome lake it would be like a Simpsons episode where all of the children were displaced by the wake.

That episode with the Trampoline where it looked like a Civil War triage centre.

I think cohorting is starting to be at risk due to lack of substitutes. A teacher was out at my kids school, and no sub was available. So they divided the kids up between the other grade 1/2 classes. That's not exactly ideal from a cohort point of view.
