Default Flames vs Jets Game 2 12:30pm MT, SN/NHL Network/SN960

What a glorious first game that was,

But as great as it was, it is now irrelevant. It's on to Game 2 of this best of 5 qualifier.

We have bad blood. we have a top line that seems to have its swagger back. We have a coach that defends his players, and we have finally turned the tables in the sense that we are no longer the bullied, but the bullies. A fun narrative, to be sure, but this series is still far from over. Now is not the time to get overconfident.

The jets response to what they believe to be a "filthy disgusting play" will be interesting. Will they target Tkachuk? Will they be able to adapt to a flames team that dominated them physically and statistically? And, while doubtful that Schiefele returns tomorrow, is there a chance he comes back at some point in this series? We will find out.

But I'll tell ya something. Hearing our goal horn and the ring of fire fill the Arena of our most hated rival is absolutely priceless. Get your rituals and your cars ready, ladies and gentlemen. It's an early one, and another TWO HUGE FRICKING POINTS UP FOR GRABS!

My own personal flames themed car. Purchased last year, she is eager to right the wrongs of last year's disappointment.

No, Ken Wiebe figures he'll be a game time decision.

Should be interesting....though i cant really believe that the Jets players are truly that hung up on the whole "it was intentional" nonsense. If they are? They have already lost this series.

Saw this earlier...made me chuckle.

I was just reading that he isn’t even out long term. Sounds like no sever, no tear, no break? Get over it already.

Living rent free in the Jets heads he is.

Hope to see Matthew pop a couple of goals just to bring the Jets blood to a boil so they start taking stupid penalties and we capitalize. Maybe with the bullseye on someone other than Johnny he just keeps on producing.

Win Game 2 fellas .....Go Flames

I hope the Jets target Tkachuk. Every time a team has the single-minded focus of getting back at Tkachuk, the Flames usually whoop ass.

Although, I don't think the Jets have a caveman like Zack Kassian to really put them behind it

Hope the flames start the game on time and continue the defensive focus we saw in game 1.

If the jets make tkatchuk the focus, flames will be in great shape. I just can't see how anyone can view the play as an intent to injure.

Go Flames go!

Schieffle is the key and has really exposed the Jets lack of depth down the middle. Conner is far less effective without Schieffle, and he doesn't seem to drive play. Wheeler is looking and playing more like Thornton than like a guy who\s been top 10 in scoring lately. With Little also out and Byfuglien gone no one on that team has the skill to set up Laine even if he had his shot working. Ehlers flies up the wing and thats about it. Without their star center I can't see what adjustments they can make at all. They'll come out harder to be sure but they aren't Columbus and Torts making something out of nothing.

The Flames took advantage of the Jets woes and got to Hellebucyk. The "Vezina" goalie thing shouldn't be a factor any more. The Flames will need to and should make hay while Schieffles out.

Oh no!

So far, the only game I have not been able to watch on-line (between the NBC Sports app and my NHL TV subscription) was the Leafs BJs game on NHL Network. It was blacked out.

Oh man....

Flames need to take advantage of Schieffle being out for this game. I also have a feeling Liane will be out also , even though they are saying game time decision . A loss to the Jets with those two out would give the Jets a huge boost for the rest of the series. Time to put the strangle hold on !!! Go flames Go!!!!

A win today by the Raptors and Flames.. and an Oilers loss will make this a perfect long weekend for sports.
