Andrew Mangiapane’s last 15 GP: 8G / 8A / 16P / +8. Kid’s a keeper and a legit top 6 forward.

Hopefully Dube is next.

Strong in playoffs too. Had the best individual play vs the Avs.

Nothing would delight me more than Dube filling out his potential. Already plays strong, just need those points to come..

My only thing I'd say to Ward is, I hope he's not too attached to Talbot in net. He was excellent in Game 1, but we've seen before how series can turn on a dime with a bad performance in Game 2. Not that Smith was even close to being the issue last year, but the team might have been able to use a change of personnel in net to spark them, and, in an even shorter series, it's even more imperative that the coach is on top of momentum.

If Talbot (or Rittich if called on) can play steady, and if Bennett and Dube can find some lightning in a bottle and build some chemistry together, this team can go pretty far. Hopefully the entire roster from top to bottom just play consistent and engaged.

I think you gotta go back to Talbot in game 2. He was solid enough even though he didn't have much work. Then even if Talbot plays well and gets the win you still consider Rittich for game 3 on the back-to-back. Would be nice to have both goalies get a taste of play-off type hockey before the next round (if we make it there of course).

You run one goalie for the series IMO. Then in round 1 if you need to switch it up then you do so. More runway in a 7 game series.

Win or lose with Talbot.

Do we take a look at someone else on the 4th line?

Rinaldo only played 3:10..

Someone other than Jankowski would be my only hope if it happens.

Why change a winning lineup? Keep it the same in my opinion.

I think he gets a bit more ice time tomorrow.

So I guess Scheifeles leg wasn't amputated and his career is over. Good thing Maurice doubled down on that one.

Haha I get the logic and generally agree..

I just ask cause Rinaldo didn’t really have much of an impact on the game with 3:10 mins played and a -1.

But the other result is that it means more icetime for the other lines if the 4th is sat even strength, or if it's just Rinaldo then it's a couple sneaky shifts by Gaudreau or Tkachuk probably against the Winnipeg 4th line and bottom pairing on D.

True.

I like Rinaldo so it doesn’t overly matter.

Backlund was the only Flames forward with over 20 mins of ice time, so there doesn't seem like there should be any urgency to find more ice-time for anyone.

Its mostly because his linemates were on the PK all game. Ryan and Reider had 10 mins TOI each but 7 of that was on the kill which is why Rinaldo was limited to 3.

Not sure if it was discussed what happened, but I think Appleton got hurt on a big hit by Monahan. He fell right as Monahan came in and had his helmet squashed against the dasher.

They play again tomorrow, so I would expect the 4th line will get more icetime today.

And I can't see them making any changes to the lineup (including Talbot) unless someone is banged up.
