I'm not sure I should post a public warning about a restaurant in Edmonton, but if any of you guys have eaten there you should get yourself checked.

and a farm system that finally appears to be delivering enough quality players to surround the stars with a playoff-calibre team.
They just won't learn will they? Just keep on assuming the next kid will be the one, and simply hand him the job.

Loved the quote by Stauffer during the game on Saturday (discussing Broberg and why he wasn't in the game)...

"He's in Sweden. Will play in the Swedish league this year, then the AHL next year, then the NHL the following year".

Why can't they just wait and see how things turn out, like any normal human being? They absolutely refuse to learn the lesson that smacks them in the face every. single. year.

Stauffer was also pencilling in Benson to put up 30-35 points this season. Only five players had more than 30 points for the Oilers last season (McDavid, Draisaitl, Nugent-Hopkins, Nurse, and Chiasson).

Yeah you just never see that here.

Gaudreau should start in the AHL - Rob Kerr.

Monahan and Tkachuk were surprises when they stuck after getting drafted, without anyone predicting either beyond the "outside chance".

Dube looks good, but it's in the mix.

I think it's actually a safe bet that Neal will score 11 more than Lucic. Only because Edmonton isn't a proper team so unlike where Peters wouldn't sacrifice 200 foot play by putting Neal on our top line where he probably would have had an easy 15 goals, Edmonton absolutely will put Neal with McDavid.

He'll get his 15-20 goals but it doesn't really make them better as most decent players who can put the puck in the net with a solid star disher. Except Reider.

Why are people surprised Edmonton media is shilling the latest batch of magic beans? We want this, we want them to be pumped for another season only to be crushed by Dec 1. I want to see Bouchard put up an amazing pre-season, only to wither on the vine by game 5.

Re: Edmonton restaurants.

https://edmontonjournal.com/news/loc...led-inspection

Another food story...I recall an Edmonton restaurant in the '70s being shut down for serving baby mice as shrimp. I remember the name of the restaurant even, but I can't find Google proof though so perhaps it was an urban legend, or maybe it’s because it happened before the internet.

Bottom line ... E=NG. Even the health department can't save Edmonton.

How many points did they pencil in for Rattie last year? Yamamoto? Rieder?

I know "Blame Toby" was the refrain at the end of last season, but nobody should forget the "Ty Hattie" hype train after the preseason, and then watching him fall completely flat on his face. The fact they brought in Hitchcock mid-season made it even funnier -- I see Mr. Rattie has now sought refuge in the KHL this year (2 goals in 2 games! On pace for 50 in 50!!!).

Watch them win a few early regular season games. Then it's "Toot toot! Aallll abbbboard the Hype Train!"

I often marvel at the skill of Spector's unique ability to wave pom-poms and type at the same time.

There can't be much more room for yet another Preseason Champions banner.

They have lots and lots of depth at 'replacement-level barely AHL Quality' guys.

In fairness....its most of their roster.

Has Oilers nation finally learned that preseason doesn't mean squat after the last few preseasons clearly demonstrating that they really, in fact don't mean squat, or will they once again project lengthy all-star careers on players that put up a few McDavid-fed tap ins, and collectively explode in their mcjockstraps ahead of game one?

Stay tuned.

When they miss the playoffs next season, having missed the playoffs in 13 of the last 14 seasons, they will officially and factually be the “NO GOODEST “ team in NHL history.

Bravo!!!
