Dell Days of Deals are back
The Dell Days of Deals started back up yesterday. I didn't start a thread as I found yesterday's deals to be as craptacular as we have become accustomed to. However today there's at least one good deal on there.
27" monitor for $600.
Basic Slingbox for $130

how can I tell if my computer could handle two of those 19" screens? Or do they have to be special screens to run dual? I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to these things...

No special screens required, it's a function of the video card not the screens themselves.
Do you know the model of your video card?

Monitor is no longer showing on the page. Not surprised that it sold out.

Oh probably not then, I think it is just a standard video card that came with it.
NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE is what it says on the spec sheet online...

Actually, they bumped it down below and it says,"Sorry... ALL Quantities have SOLD OUT"

Yeah it looks like it's an onboard video card which typically doesn't support multiple monitors. Depending on your system you could upgrade the card to get dual monitor support, and it probably wouldn't be very expensive if you don't care about video game performance.

I replaced my desktop a while ago with a HP Slimline and I have heard they can't be upgrade that one too easily, anyone know if that is true?
I had a "custom" computer before this one and my laptop. I wasn't really into any computer stuff until about lately and I am regretting that purchase if it is true about upgrades, etc.

Since it is a slimline case, I'm guessing you are limited to the low profile type of video cards. If you can link up the specific one you have perhaps we could have a better idea. I did see this, and it has a PCIe slot available, but without seeing your specific case I couldn't swear you have one too.

This is the one I have. I paid $300 for it so I figured I couldn't go wrong for something to get me buy...but it would be nice, if I didn't have to get a new computer just because of this.
Thanks guys!

It days that one has a PCIe slot available and doesn't say anything about it having to be a low profile card, so you are probably fine.
Barring that, there are also USB to VGA and USB to DVI adapters which let you add a monitor connected to USB, though those are $100 or so if I recall so you're better off just getting a video card.
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Product...20101(ME).aspx
Something like that maybe, has enough oomph to it that you could do some gaming with it too, or if not gaming at least will run Vista with all the pretty stuff turned on.
If you get a card, you might want to take the machine with you so they can open it to see if it does require a low profile card or not.

Hoot- you may be able to add a PCI video card. I know the slimline Dell PCs that my company has- we use a PCI card as the slim AGP or PCI-Express cards can get expensive.
But for $60 at Memory Express you could have a dual monitor card.

Yeah Ken I've got that PCI card on an old Dell and it will power a 19" and a 22" at the same time but if Hoot can possibly fit that PCIe 9600 or any other PCIe card in his case, I'd strongly recommend it.

I bought that Harmony 880 remote when they were on sale last Boxing Day.
It kicks butt, and $99 is a great price for it (the 890 model, which is the same but also includes IR (the 880 is only RF) is $417 at Bestbuy.ca)
Edit: CRAP. I decided this would make a great Christmas present for my Brother in law, and while I was checking out they raised the price by $30!
Still a good deal, but now I'm not going to order because I feel like I was just about jobbed for $30.

So it is. I wonder why the discount went from $80, to $50, and now back to $80.
Strange, but thanks for the heads up.
