Default Accessing Office Email via MacBook's Mail feature

Heres the scoop:

I have a telus.net email account through my work, but I'll be going back to school this week so I wont be in my office regularly.

I typically access this email through Outlook, as crappy as it is.

I'd like to be able to access it through my MacBook's Mail feature, but it doesnt seem to be working.

Any help would be appreciated.

Locke.

I emailed you some instructions to your telus.net account

What kind of problem are you having?

I just cant get the telus.net account to be picked up by my laptop.

I typically use webmail accounts, but it would be a huge convenience to get my work email at school so I dont have to go into my office.

You should be able to set Mail.app up to access your telus account via POP3/SMTP. Telus's info.

I'd recommend setting the "Leave messages on server" option though. That way you can keep a full record of your emails on your main office computer.

Just so you know, you won't be able to send messages through that account unless you are connected to the Telus network.

Telus and Shaw both block access to their smtp server from external ISPs.

(This means you'll be able to receive your telus emails, but you'll have to reply to them through your current ISP's smtp server.)
