Default EE's : thoughts on the future of digital logic design

Pretty simply put, what are your thoughts on the future of digital logic design engineering jobs being in North America (i.e. Silicon Valley) the next 50 years?

Am I the only one who has no idea what a digital logic design engineer would do?

(ok, I do hve some ideas but none of them make enough sense to give you an actual answer)

Dude. Everyone knows that they engineer logically designed digital devices.

Geez.

I am not an EE. Familiar with the concepts yes.

This is probably the wrong board to post this on. Go find a Firefly or maybe a Star Trek site. Better with TOS or TNG. Don't bother with Voyager or DS9.

ASIC design isn't a big thing around here since most of the involved employees would probably be going to service Oil and Gas Industry, and beyond data transmission and retrieval there's not much for the advancement of digital logic design purely for the fact that it isn't a priority here.

Also 50 years is too big of a time frame to encapsulate this particular industry. Although asynchronus design strategies if they can be made to work would probably be advantageous.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with porn distribution systems. Right?
