Is Magniapane ahead of Jankowski, Shinkaruk, or Porier on anyone's prospect ranking?

He called him "a mean little #######."

Possibly Poirier, certainly not the other two though.

Mangiapane needs to show that he can do that at the professional level. Until that becomes apparent, it's hard to peg his potential with any certainty. Some guys like Bryan Cameron absolutely ripped the junior level a new one. Then he graduated to the AHL and did nothing and vanished. Just have to wait and see. The early returns are very positive though.

Interesting that Burke said his skating needs work and yet he was voted the Best Skater in his conference by OHL Coaches.

I would find it difficult to rank Mangiapane ahead of Poirer at this point. Look at what Poirier did in his first season of pro - that's a good start. Sure, he seemed to regress this past season, but unless that season turns into two consecutive ones, and until Mangiapane puts up a solid rookie campaign in the AHL, I just can't fathom what would make me personally rank Mangiapane ahead at this point.
I do think that Poirier's ceiling and Poirier's floor are both higher.
With that being said, I do think Mangiapane is a good prospect and I am eager to see how he translates and develops in the pros. He is more than likely in my top 10.

Jankowski > Shinkaruk > Mangiapane > Poirier for me.

Really like the feistiness with which Mangiapane plays and I think he has a legitimate shot at the NHL (but no, not this year).
As for where he ranks against those other guys, I agree with the posters that suggested that we need to see him at the next level before he can move ahead of them. Each step is difficult, and until a guy actually takes it, you can't be sure.
Jankowski (because, big C) > Shinkaruk = Poirier
Mangiapane has the potential to jump into that group in some capacity, but hard to put him ahead of any of those guys until he proves it in Stockton.

For me it would be:
Jankowski > Shinkaruk = Poirier > Mangiapane
Mangiapane has looked great in junior - but Shinkaruk & Poirier have looked great in the AHL at times so they are still slightly ahead for me.

Will he become Theo 2.0 (small size, skilled scorer who plays physical)? I really hope so.

That's me too
I think a stutter step in the AHL can be over reacted to, and at the same time you have to see where junior numbers translate for a kid ready to graduate.

I fully agree it remains to be seen what he does beyond junior... but some people seem to be forgetting (or are unaware) he lasted longer in last years camp than most would have thought. And in doing so, looked very good against and alongside some older and veteran players in the system.
I remember a sequence in a scrimmage where he was hacking away at a puck around the net and then started chirping and shoving with Kanzig. I remember thinking who does this little guy think he is poking the bear (KK)? He's definitely a feisty player... and I wouldn't be shocked to see him make a push in camp this September.
