April 1996 birthdate, so he still has to go back to junior.

That's a huge jump in point totals which is good to see. Safe pick I bet.
He gets minus points in my book for Gossip Girl & Ronaldo though.

That's sounds good to me. It would mean we drafted an NHL player in the 6th round, and a Paul Byron who is roughly 3" taller and 15lbs heavier (at 19) sounds like even more of a win to me.

The Colts must bond over episodes of Gossip Girl. The Flames drafted two guys from Barrie today and they both had Gossip Girl as their favourite show.

It's ridiculous how jazzed I am that the Flames Stole/Robbed Buzz Kylington and reeled in Rasmus Andersson. On top of Hamilton. Just euphoric. So freaking happy how today turned out. Kharnukov looks like a potential gem in the 5th and the other two kids are a remained to be seen. All in all, just amazing.

Better offensively, doesn't have Gallagher's hype with an otherworldly never stop motor

Was it Tod Button that compared him to Cogliano moreso in terms of speed/skill?

Mixed feelings here.
On the one hand, Mangiapane is a genuine offensive talent, and I'm glad Treliving took a flyer on him in the sixth round. Could make him look like a genius if the kid pans out.
On the other hand, I'm not sure how I feel about having a player in the system whose name means ‘Eat Bread’.

I'm really liking this pick. He's only about two months older than his teammate Brendan Lemieux (who was drafted in the second round last year by Buffalo), but Mangiapane had 44 more points in about the same amount of even strength ice time.
I think Treliving just stole a kid whose development curve was a bit behind.

With Monahan, Gaudreau and Bennett all bypassing the AHL completely, we need some more skilled forward prospects to (eventually) play in Stockton. Good use of a 6th round pick -- hope he can continue to develop.
