He always looked kind of raw to me in Tampa. Really strong defensive play for a few shifts at a time, then suddenly nothing resembling proper gap control for an entire shift.
Too bad he went to the Ducks. I think he should be a solid bottom pairing guy. If he somehow gets any consistency in his game, he will be a solid #3 guy. I just wonder how he and Schenn are going to fit together on that team, however - Ducks seem slower on the backend.
I didn't see a fit in Calgary for him (I would have preferred de Haan this year), but I do remember when Sustr left College, the Flames were one of the teams that showed interest.
