This sounds pretty cool. Fans in Calgary and Montreal will be able to interact on gameday! It should be a hoot.

i use video conferencing every single day; either as a simple webcam to webcam meeting, or in the manner that the video suggests, although it is boardroom to boardroom.

travel is waaaaaay down, which is better for people and better for the environment (and expenses!).

some still cling to the "bum in seats" concept in an office, but i think that will go away with time.

It was kind of cool. We had Theo, me and a buddy in one booth, and on the other end was George Laraque and a bunch of other people. Was pretty sweet, even if it only lasted 15 seconds until the next people in line came in.

I wandered into the CSCO tent at the HC and while I saw the air hockey tables, I sure didn't see this miraculous Holodeck like wall of Montreal. I think I recall seeing a 42" LCD on a folding table. Was this the "telepresence"?

Thankfully the company I work prefers us working in person with people so I will take advantage of the free flights while I can.

enjoy the free travel! having logged many miles over the years, i do understand the attraction, but it wears after a while. the video gives companies options, as you say in person has many advantages, but video beats con calls.
