I have never seen the Oilers bias that many of you speak of. I think many of you just have a hard time seeing the people on tv say nice things about the other team sometimes. Major insecurities

Ron has not been the same since they fired Grapes. He’s had a “why bother” way about him ever since.

This is Hockey Night - there’s no place for anyone who isn’t fired up to be there. Ron is the last of that old guard remaining, unless you count Cuthbert.

Me too. He was just a fan and didn’t pretend otherwise. And IMO the panelists were comfortable with him. Maclean tries to feed them too much.

HNIC should learn from their past mistakes where they try and go 180 and it's never done right, and fans revolt. So any changes they make seem to be trendy which seems forced.

I don't hold MacLean in a terrible light like many here do. I find him hokey, and it's a little silly when the young guys and Marek try and emulate his style. I think he does well as his job, but his favourite teams at times shows, and that's annoying from a fan standpoint. He does great intros, and his puns are alright but he should pass the torch. His hometown hockey with Tara whatever, is just Canadiana junk. Drop that show, and Tara. One thing I hope they don't do is drop him completely. It's always a bit sad when you don't see someone you grew up with, who's still competent, drop from the show overnight. And that's precisely why HNIC has been managed so badly over the years with the drastic drops of personalities. So I hope he's back for things like intros, and small segments here and there, but as host he should pass it to Amber. Marek should be fired for the appearance of having an uptight rectum. Forget that guy - constant name dropper and dropping his kids' name all the time (hint: we don't care).


I do wonder what the betting line on Ron is leaving, though.

I watch the Flames and that's it. Use an HDMI cable or sync your smart TV and just Seven Seas that sucker.

Especially now that SN is trying to corner Canadian audiences into watching their McVomit.

Improve your product. Stop turning Flames games into ####ing Oilers discussions. Get real HD cameras, not the knockoff brand you've been rolling with. Sync the audio right. Then the rest of us might get on board with paying for your ultimatum package.

I'm in the states and listen to 960 sometimes. It's the only flams info I can get audibly. Once their season is over.. I'll pick up in October. Don't need potato chip competitions.

Tough day for sports media in general as The Athletic cut 8% of its staff today. I haven’t seen if local folks were let go but the cuts affect 46 people and markets in Winnipeg, Phoenix, L.A, and much, much more.
