We need to keep voting liberal despite all of this because If the conservatives get in they will most assuredly implement harper’s secret agenda.

What could go wrong with having the UCP running the whole country, right?

You mean PPs stated agenda.
For example - Him threatening to fire the Bank of Canada director if elected. Interference in central banking is not good.

It is not really government interference in this case though because the government and the bank essentially work hand in hand. The Finance Minister has final authority over monetary policy in this country.

It is interference because there is a set process for hiring and ends of terms for the BoC governor to prevent it from being a political process. The system is set up to prevent exactly what PP is doing.

Has a Finance Minister ever used that authority?

He has also come out against the Code of Service Discipline in the military, which is a really weird way to pursue operational readiness. Freedumb would Trump effectiveness I guess.

It is a political process though because the Feds have to approve the nomination of the Governor.

Yes it is a political process. Appointing Supreme Court justices in Canada is also a political process. These processes have been set up as attempting to be as non-partisan as possible.
When someone campaigns on firing the governor and implementing his bank policy that is a large shift in how the process has previously worked. This addition of partisanship to a previously non-partisan process in what needs to be the most stable institution in the country is wreckless.

Lol, prepare to be disappointed. As long as the Conservatives continue to pander to far-right deplorables and participate in stupid crap like freedumb convoy marches on Canada Day, their chances of winning another election in this country again are zero.
If they can somehow get their act together and purge the MAGA dips***s from their party, then they'd probably have a decent chance. But until that happens, the Liberals will remain in power for the foreseeable future.

Pierre Poilievre and the freedumb convoy emulate the American right. The American right reveals itself to be even more awful than at any other time in the past 50 years. corporatejay and Yoho tell us that there is nothing to worry about.
Look, even if the CPC doesn't go full MCGA, people have good reason to be concerned. And instead of addressing those concerns with empathy, you're mocking. Read the fataing room.

Labor shortages are impacting investment plans and generating “tens of billions” in lost sales at a majority of companies in Canada, according to a report by one its largest business advocacy groups.
The Business Council of Canada released a poll of 80 of its members on Friday that found two-thirds claiming the labor crunch is forcing them to cancel or delay projects, while 60 per cent say it’s led to revenue losses. Nearly a third say they’ve been forced to relocate work outside of Canada or led to a loss of market share. In total, the survey found 80 per cent of these companies are reporting trouble filling positions.
