Baffling and enormously stupid reply.
Look at what American Republicans are parroting in regards to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. There's a lot of people down there that bought into QAnon garbage. It's so disheartening.

Republicans supporting an ex-kgb head, who idolizes stalin, and wants to recreate the soviet empire with capitalist oligarchs as the proletariat is the weirdest thing ever.

Fedotov is literally being sent to an artic gulag as punishment. How can a team even morally justify drafting a russian at this point when it puts them in physical peril?

I don't buy that argument at all. It's not like being drafted by Buffalo forced Mogilny to defect. It gave him a choice, one he took.

Being drafted and getting the resources from an NHL team behind them probably gives them a better chance at making it over to North America if they so chose instead of being an "unnamed" random non-NHL affiliated player trying to get here.

Mogilny was drafted at a time when tensions between the USSR and the west were thawing a lot, under Gorbachev. Calgary drafted Pryakhin the same draft and he was even given permission to come over. In fact, he played NHL hockey before Mogilny.

Russia under Putin during wartime is a different animal altogether.

Luca Del Bel Belluz is probably the best name available in the 1st round.

Just wanted to do a not-so-subtle plug for the FCHockey Draft Guide.

A few DM'ed me asking when it'd be released, and it turns out the answer was today. We had to fight and claw to get it out due to some unforeseen circumstances, but I'm as proud as ever on our release. It's our most cohesive release yet in terms of a full team effort.

We go 300 prospects deep with full profiles, so chances are we've nailed the three picks the Flames will make. Also, don't sleep on the promo code calgarypuck to save 25%.

To take a look, surf over here:

For those of you that are looking to supplement your own research, allow me to drop a bunch of links below:

FC's scouting staff is basically like a 33rd NHL team at this point.

Well at least we will know every pick's coach when they were 11 years old and how they are great hockey people that Pierre worked with or knows personally.

Whoever he overreacts about being picked too early will likely have a HOF career.
