Yeah, I don't want to Armchair QB what happened with so little details, but my first reaction is what in the hell was the boat operator doing?

Either under the influence or very inexperienced would be my guess.

Such a preventable tragedy IMO

Good god I didn't need to read that, what a horrific way to go. So preventable.

Those hats are almost making this game unwatchable.

Or maybe it was that throw by Springer...

Well. The good news is that Oakland is truly terrible and there's lots of time left. The bad news is they look like absolute dog#### so far.

Manoah is down a good 3-4 mph today. Probably not helping.

That was just meh. Let a mediocre pitcher go 8 innings on 95 pitches.

Wasn't able to see any of the game tonight, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt with everything going on with Budzinski daughter

We'll see, but the combination of what it would now take and the way the Jays are playing would make it really difficult. They'd now have to go 17-8.
You're were right, this is a losing streak that sunk you.

How about an opportunity to double or nothing? Plus to make the 2nd half interesting. The Jays are 44-37 at 81 games. Will they match or better 44-37 in the next 81?

88 wins or better you win What do you think?

This Jays team is just not very good. It's had the same issues for three seasons with nothing done to address it. The team's pitching is downright dreadful and the hitters are just not what they were last year so that pitching is even more noticeable. Apparently Semien was the secret ingredient for the Jays and the Jays were the secret ingredient for Semien.

I actually think they'll do that (provided they make a trade or two to shore up pitching), so yeah you're on! So $400 to me if they do it, $200 to you if they don't?

I fully realize they may just falter all season with no major trades, but hey, it's just a fun bet.

No. I've already won the first bet. So $200 to me if they dont do it and $0 if they do. Double or nothing.

Pretty sure that isn't how that works? Certainly not the way I've ever interpreted it.

No? Say I've won the first bet so jayswin owes me $100. We're just adding $100 onto that bet. So $200 or $0. If we do it his way, it's like the first bet never happened. If would be $400 against $200 for just the latter bet which I think he's favored.

Ah that makes sense, you were considering the original bet a loss as the odds of me winning now are low. I thought it was more of a "you're likely going to lose so let's negotiate something new to keep it going all season". Aka I get some "credit" for not seeing the next month out to actually lose.

But yeah looking back giving me a huge payout for a record that ls easier to attain than 60-45 makes zero sense.

K let me think

If the original bet is a win for you I'd still pay you the $200, and this bet is still an add on and you'd almost win it for sure. At 60-45, you'd only need to win 28 of the next 57 to get to 88, I'd most certainly be paying you $300.

But that's a longshot now I think.

Okay, I was actually going to say my tie up was not seeing the loss through officially on the off chance the jays went on a heater and was going to suggest we do the double or nothing bet when I actually lose.

But yeah if you're willing to pay out if I pull off a miracle then I'm down for how the second bet is structured and accept.
