Alshon Jeffery to the Eagles (1 year, 14m), as per Rapoport.

Don't mind that at all. Strange for a free agent to go one year though. Must want the show me contract in hopes of more next year vs any sort of security.

DeSean Jackson to the Bucs also seems like a great move for them. Jameis throwing to Evans+Jackson ... not bad.

Yeah, I think it's good for both sides. Clearly Alshon wasn't getting the offers he wanted so he gets to prove it for a season and the Eagles get more time to grew a young WR if they draft one.

Bit high on money and we will need to clear space but Jeffery-Smith-Matthews-Ertz looks really promising.

Alshon got popped for PEDs last year so not shocking the market wasn't great for him for long term deals. As for as Jackson to the Bucs, they too have lots of cap space so $20 million guaranteed over two years is a worthwhile risk.

Now while it would seem Romo is likely the reason the Texans cleared the cap space, I wonder if they wouldn't maybe try and trade for Cousins instead. Romo is the better QB, but one more injury is probably curtains on his career so he's still a big risk. Cousins might be better for the longer term.

Evans creating space for Jackson could be a deadly combo, good signing there.

Alshon is definitely betting on himself. Bodes well for the Eagles.

Bouye got paid, damn that is a big deal.

And Aldon Smith was detained for public intoxication. 7th time he has had a legal run in since 2012.

Ian Rapoport ✔ @RapSheet
For the #Chargers and OT Russell Okung, it’s a 4 year deal worth $53M, source said. $13.25M guaranteed.

If you've been following the McCloughan, the Redskins appear to be a rather big tire fire. He has been fired with cause, apparently because he's an alcoholic and because Bruce Allen used that to oust him in a power struggle. What a disaster.

sure looks like a power move by Allen and Snyder, using the alcohol thing to sell the firing. That organization is a tire fire.

So we can probably expect a lawsuit out of this I'm guessing.

What a brilliant move by the Texans. Almost makes up for the awfulness of the signing.
