Day 12 (PM of February 15 - AM of February 16)
Women’s Curling starts us off at 18:05 on CBC. Canada (3-3) faces the USA (4-3). At the same time we have Switzerland vs South Korea, and China vs Great Britain.
At 18:30 the Men’s Freestyle Skiing Slopestyle Final begins, Max Moffatt is the Canadian competitor. I’m not sure what channel this will be on as it is a rescheduled event.
Run 1 in the Men’s Slalom starts at 19:15, Erik Read and Trevor Philp are the Canadians competing. Run 2 starts at 22:45 and I believe will be on TSN.
The first Quarterfinal in Men’s Hockey starts at 21:10 between the USA and Slovakia, I believe this will be on CBC. The second Quarterfinal between Denmark and the cheaters starts at 23:00 and I believe it will also be on CBC.
At 23:05 Men’s Curling is back with China vs Switzerland, Great Britain vs the cheaters, and Italy vs Denmark.
At 00:15 the Women’s Team Sprint Semifinals begin in Cross Country Skiing. I’m not sure if this will be on tv. Katherine Stewart-Jones and Dahria Beatty are in the first race. The Finals start at 02:15.
The Women’s 4 x 6km Biathlon relay starts at 00:45. Emma Lunder, Megan Bankes, Emily Dickson, and Sarah Beaudry make up Team Canada.
The Men’s Team Sprint Classic Style Cross Country Skiing Semifinals start at 01:15. Antoine Cyr and Graham Ritchie are in the first race. The Finals start at 02:45.
At 01:40 Finland faces Switzerland in a Quarterfinal matchup in Men’s Hockey, I believe this will be on CBC.
At 04:00 the Finals in Men’s Aerials starts and I think it will be on TSN2.
The Bronze Medal Game in the Women’s Hockey Tournament starts at 04:30 between Finland and Switzerland. I believe this will be on Sportsnet.
Also at 04:30 the Quarterfinals in the Women’s 1500m Short Track starts and it should be on CBC. Danae Blais is in the third race, Courtney Lee Sarault will be in the fourth race, and Kim Boutin will be in the fifth race. The Semifinals should begin at 05:15. The Finals will start at 06:11.
Women’s Curling is back at 05:05 with Canada facing China, I think this will be on TSN or TSN4. We also have Sweden vs the cheaters, South Korea vs Denmark, and Japan vs USA.
The Men’s 5000m Short Track Speed Skating Relay finals begin at 05:32, Canada will be in the A Final on CBC.
At 06:30 Canada faces Sweden in the Quarterfinals of the Men’s Hockey Tournament. This will be on CBC.

Random Biathlon musings again - I'm not expecting much from Team Canada in this relay today (Lunder missed 7 times in the last event), but all eyes will probably be on Roeiseland from Norway. She's had an amazing Olympics so far, with 3 gold and a bronze. In the 10 km Pursuit, she could have done some snow angels before crossing the finish line and still been a minute or so ahead of second place. She's probably going to be on the anchor leg today and no matter what position Norway is in by then, she'll give them a chance for medal.

LOL, USA calls a shot that sets up the triple perfectly for Canada, and Jones makes it.

Jones in trouble first end without hammer...nbd just an all-world thin triple. US fails to roll out on their takeout and scores a (for them) disappointing single.

Biathlon question. Why do they get spare bullets in the relay? That's no fun.

Why are there so many competitors in the men's slalom? It is almost like they are letting anyone that wants to participate compete in this event.
I've never even heard of a country called Timor Leste before.

It's the easiest one. So many countries can get in.

Shouldn't there be some sort of standard for entry into the event though? Like being in the top x of the world ranking or something? I'm pretty sure I've seen young kids at Nakiska that were better than the skier from Pakistan.

Caught the last couple ends of the womens curling. A little shaky but Jones gets it done. Two games left with Denmark and China. Just win them both.

It's a country standard.

A maximum of 306 athletes are allowed to compete at the Olympic Games. A maximum of 22 athletes per nation will be allowed to compete with a maximum of 11 males or 11 females from a nation being permitted. A nation may not enter more than four athletes in any single event. Each nation may also enter a maximum of one team in the Mixed Team Parallel event.

So if a country is a member of FIS. You can go compete for them!

It used to be East Timor. It was in the news a lot about 20 years as it fought for its independence from Indonesia.

Curling is back on. If ROC and Switzerland both lose in the draw, Gushue is in! The 5 loss teams are still alive.
I think even ROC losing alone might be enough. US would get knocked out of a three way tie between them, Canada and Switzerland.

Overtime.
Slovakia has a 6'4", 218 lb. forward who is so young he has to wear a full cage still. He turns 18 at the end of March and is projected to go top 10 in the draft this year... Juraj Slafkovsky.

3 on 3 on the big ice is a bit too much room I think. Can't skate that far.
