We don't "know" 200lbs will be his playing weight considering how much his game relies on his absurd skating speed.
These same listings have Brodie at 182 lbs. Both are mobile defenseman who aren't overly physical. I'm not sure how you can have an issue with Kylington's size as he's only an inch shorter and the same weight as Brodie.

Also I've checked around 8 different websites all of whom have Brodie listed at 6'1" so I'm not sure who has him listed at 6'2".

Or the in and out nature of his playing time perhaps affected him. But really, I thought the other players in a similar position—Jooris, Shore, Ferland—made more of an impact with their time. Now, all three of those players are older than Granlund, so perhaps he takes a huge step this year. But I definitely think some other prospects have passed him in terms of their overall outlook with the organization moving forward.
I really feel like Granlund is miscast as a centreman. He may be smart but he is simply too small to compete at that position, especially in the Western Conference.

One of the things that always impressed me about Granlund while he was in Finland and the AHL was his shooting ability. He has a great one timer and the ability to snipe. Unfortunately, we never see that at the NHL level and I think it's because he is too busy worrying about his defensive responsibilities as a centre.

I think he should be a permanent right winger and pattern his game after a Jere Lehtinen. On the RW, he can take advantage of his shooting ability and he can also focus more on offense.

When Hudler leaves at the deadline or at UFA, I would like to see Granlund pick up a lot of his minutes on the top two lines. I think he has the instincts and smarts to be a point producer on the wing, but not at centre.

For starters, because Brodie is much further along in his development than Kylington. I said in my previous post this:

Most guys that size who do make it compensate with smarts (Karlsson)

and I said that Kylington needs to hit his full potential to be able to compensate with smarts. He can't do so only getting half the way there and relying on his speed alone.

As for your other complaint

http://theahl.com/stats/player.php?id=3862

6'2
190lbs

And that was when he was in the A. He's probably gotten bigger since making it to the big leagues. NHL is notorious for never updating these things, they've still got Monahan at 185 when he's probably playing in at around 205-210.

Went with Jankowski again. I think he has the highest ceiling of any remaining players left on the board. Chance of making it though.... 50/50

Granlund to me is a complement player. I can't see him carrying a line.

Thanks, It's weird that theahl.com is different than literally every other website including NHL.com. I checked the first 10 results on google and it's all 6'1" for Brodie.

Regardless though, they are very similar sizes and unless Kylington plays a shut-down physical defender style (which he doesn't) than we don't need to be concerned about his size. He's not Kris Russell small or anything.

It's also not fair to say he needs to have the smarts of a Karlsson to get by at his weight. Wideman is the same height as Kylington too and isn't overly smart. Giordano is able to be physical, offensive and defensive style hockey at 6 feet tall.

I think the most impressive thing about this years prospect list is that many of these players have actually suited up for NHL games.

How much impact they have we will have to wait and see... But there are far less complete busts in this list. The top-6 are basically locks to see NHL time.

There's a certain cherry on top also when Treliving mentions he's the guy that most teams have been calling about. It's one thing to believe in your own prospects but when the rest of the league does as well, you know you probably have a good one.

^ I remember similar comments being made about Gaudreau after BC's championship season in his Freshman year.

Jankowski, Hickey, Klimchuk, Granlund and McDonald are the favourites here IMO.

I'm going Jankowski for big upside. Hickey probably my 2nd choice.

EDIT: wow, close one, looks like our first runoff IMO.
