Yeah, Bennett is still a prospect, and our best by a mile. The playoffs were just a taste of what is to come.

So, moving on to round #2, who's the other best prospect?

He's a prospect by the definition provided in the original post. Pretty straight forward.

Round 1 should be pretty easy.

I had to double check but I don't think Shore should be on the list. His stats say 78 NHL games played.
Thanks again for putting this together. It will be fun to see how much the prospect rankings change from the previous years.

Bennett has the potential, make even the likelihood, of being our best player.
It feels like we should have moved straight on to round 2, because this really isn't close. No disrespect to Poirier.

2nd round will be interesting. Ortio, Poirier, Gillies, Granlund, MacDonald in the mix for me.

Ortio
Morrisson
Granlund
Ferland
Jankowski

Think if you make a selection that is a long shot you should at least give a brief explanation.

I am going for Omit in the next round. I have a good feeling about him.

Going with the 25 and under with 65 or less games played at the NHL level which actually works pretty closely with my own rule of thumb of "anyone not too old that hasn't been penciled in".
Therefore Granlund, Jooris, Ortio and Ferland are still prospects, with Jooris 5 games light of the 65 game limit.
Monahan and Gaudreau are young but clearly established and no longer prospects. Bennett may be penciled in but he's only played 12 NHL games and is a prospect.
Make sense?!
Please let me know quickly if I've left players out of the mix.

That is perfect, IMHO.
This is going to be really fun this year. Probably some big movement from last year.

Anyone who doesn't vote for Bennett, and the vote isn't a result of a mis-click, should automatically be banned from this site because they know nothing about hockey and cannot contribute positively to discussions.
This poll should be a weeding out mechanism for the site.

Pretty much. The thing for me is after Bennett we are out of top prospects. We have some good prospects but probably no sure budding stars. Next for me is
Ferland - possible Lucic type, a difference maker
Ortio - next Kipper?
Gillies - has all the physical tools
Poirier - progressing well
Klimchuk - good supporting player, could be another Gelinas
Wotherspoon - still our best defence prospect

Bennett should sweep it up. Next please! Ferland/Ortio/Poirier/Morrison rounding out my top five I think.

I think Hickey, Kylington and Gillies can become top prospects
Poirier, Ferland and Ortio are solid prospects
And there are several good prospects, starting with Wotherspoon and Klimchuk
