It will be interesting to see what types of offers Lemon receives. I think he's a safe bet to be around an 8 sack guy in 2023 but I'm not sure if last season will be repeatable at 34/35.

Thurman and Bo back together -- now we just need the CFL script writers to get Calgary into the Grey Cup so we can take it from Hamilton on their home turf.

I guess they haven't watched Bo play the past few years.
They will have a hard time winning 1 playoff game.

Obviously, the Stamps have high hopes for Silas Stewart and he did look good both on special teams and when he slotted in to play linebacker. He certainly has big shoes to fill.

I was really hoping that the Stamps would be more active in free agency with DD running things.

Cats are also in on Orimolade. They are also pursuing Ja'Gared Davis and Eugene Lewis.

Seems impossible they could keep all those guys when the Stamps can't keep their own top players, especially when most of the Stamps guys wouldn't even warrant the same amount of money of the Bombers all-star players listed. Heck when Bo was making Collaros money the Stamps could barely build a competitive roster. Then there's the Argos. Enough said.

Is there a chance that the Flames have imposed an internal cap in recent years due to the league faltering and the Stamps drawing flies in the stands compared to previous seasons? That's been my theory as to the amount of talent we let go and the lack of signings of free agents, while other teams around us appear able to load up.
And then they just say whatever they want publicly about being max cap spenders as fans have no ability to confirm like they can with publicly available NHL/NBA/NFL/MLB plays salaries and team cap breakdowns?

Sounds very Flames ownership but at same time I doubt Huff and Dickenson would stick with the Stamps if they felt ownership had their hands tied. Both would have have no issues finding work in another city.

the CFL cap is what 7-8 million? I doubt they have any issues spending to the cap when they are spending 85 on the Flames.

No, it's not that high, I think it's like 5.5 million. I'll look it up.

Yup, 5.51 million.
According to the new collective bargaining agreement, the 2023 salary cap will be set at $5,510,000.[3][4] As per the agreement, the cap is fixed and will not vary with league revenue performance.[3] The minimum player salary will be set at $70,000 after previously being $65,000 for National and American players and $54,000 for Global players in 2022

Yeah no way the Ti-Cats raiding our roster the Argos raiding our roster and the Bombers fielding all-star teams are under a 5.5 million cap complete crap.

Nah, it may not be true, but I wouldn't use Huff and Dickenson staying as proof. The CFL as a whole is very weak in terms of ownership, and the Flames are one of if not the strongest, even if they did impose internal caps based on revenue coming in.
There's 9 teams in the league, so even the Flames operating with an imposed cap is probably still more appealing than finding the teams that would fire current guys to make room for you, which would widdle it down right away, plus have to move your family and life to a new city where Calgary is one of the best in Canada for quality of life.

Brown attended training camp with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2022 and saw action in two pre-season games, making two catches for 25 yards. He was re-signed by the Ticats on Aug. 10 and spent the remainder of the 2022 season on the practice roster.
In 2020, Brown signed with the National Football League’s Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent and also spent time with the New York Giants and Washington.

Interesting how he and Maas are hooking up again as it didn't really work out in Regina. I am shocked the Riders are paying over $1 million for two years of Harris. That's pretty nuts.
