so one month later, where do we sit?
Washington jumped up a few places and Tampa has dropped out in the East.
Eastern Conference
1. Detroit Red Wings vs 8. Florida Panthers
2. Carolina Hurricanes vs 7. Montreal Canadiens

4. New Jersey Devils vs 5. Philadelphia Flyers
No changes to the teams in the West, just shifting positions!
Western Conference
1. Dallas Stars vs 8. Columbus Blue Jackets
2. Chicago Blackhawks vs 7. LA Kings
3. San Jose Sharks vs 6. St Louis Blues
4. Calgary Flames vs 5.Minnesota Wild
One month ago........
Eastern Conference
1. Detroit Red Wings vs 8. Florida Panthers
2. Toronto Maple Leafs vs 7. Tampa Bay Lightning
3. Carolina Hurricanes vs 6. Philadelphia Flyers
4. New Jersey Devils vs 5. Montreal Canadiens
Washington and Pittsburgh sit just outside the race and are within 4 points of the final spot. 1-3 are all fighting for top spot in the east with only 4 points separating the top teams.
We can assume that Buffalo, Ottawa, Rangers and Islanders are out and should be dealing for futures.
Who do you like in the current match-ups?
Western Conference
1. Chicago Blackhawks vs 8. Minnesota Wild
2. St Louis Blues vs 7. LA Kings
3. San Jose Sharks vs 6. Columbus Blue Jackets
4. Calgary Flames vs 5. Dallas Stars
This Conference is mostly set in the top 8 with only the Coyotes possibly sneaking up to 8th if they get on a hot streak, but that streak better happen soon.
Canucks, Ducks, Oilers, Avs and Preds are on the outs and should be looking to next year if they havent yet.
7 points separate 1 through 7 in the West so a hot or cold streak can change the standings pretty quickly.
What do you think about the west match-ups?
Now is the time to decide, am I in, or am I out, what are your chances of moving up 2 or 3 spots or falling out of the race?
Trade deadline is not far away.
