No. I have heard rumours that there will be an announcement this week, but I will believe it when I see it.

Not sure if anyone really cares about a 2020 season anymore, but Escalante and Luca are stuck out of the country and likely won't make it back in for the year. That's a bummer as I was looking forward to watching the rest of the league lose their #### on Escalante all year, and Luca looked promising in attack.
I've heard Escalante is signed through 2021 but I have no idea whether that's true or not.
As for an update on the 2020 season, every week I have people in the know tell me this is the week we should hear an announcement on a 2020 season, but every week nothing happens. Once something is announced I can go on a rant about the things I've heard over the last 6 weeks. I will say that Cavalry as a club are in a tough spot here as they are at the mercy of the league, just like we are.

I really hope the league survives the pandemic.
It would be such a shame for it to fizzle after a fairly successful inaugural season.

It will survive the pandemic. But it will take a year or two to get back to where we were in February.

Everytime I see you bump the thread I have that hope that you just got the news on details for a 2020 season/tourny...and then everytime I'm disappointed!
One of these times though, it'll happen! I hope...

Honestly, the delays and non-communication are pathetic. I know it's still a fledgling, and I know they're are a lot of burdens as a result. But being halfway through July with nothing is pretty poor.
I've resigned myself to the fact that my ST money is just gone and not coming back. But just tell me that and get on with this. Or push the seats until next year or whatever. But trundling along when it's plainly obvious there is no season this year is just crazy.

I feel bad for Cavalry's management, because it isn't their fault and as a STH, I totally get that they are paralyzed.
That said, has CanPL ever pissed away all the goodwill and momentum they had. They needed to have their act together at the same time as MLS, and they didn't. As shaky as MLS is, they are out there playing their matches, and our guys are in Phase 3 training indefinitely. Now, it's mid July with nothing. Just amateur hour.

I have so many things I want to say, but I promised to the league and Cavalry that I wouldn't.
But yes, the league has pissed away the goodwill of year 1. The general feeling amongst the supporters groups is "the honeymoon is over".

I just wonder why they're blowing it this badly? Do they know communication is ALL fans are looking for from sports leagues? I mean every sports league gave a vague time frame for return to play and fans accepted that it may change and in almost every case, it did change. And if it does change or the season is cancelled, you have the biggest built in excuse of the last 50 years.
So what the hell is the benefit of radio silence from a fledgling league in it's second year? It's beyond brain dead. You can point to any vague timeline goal and fans are happy that they know there's a plan and something to look forward to.
But you go with silence and open up questioning of any plan at all? Stupidity.

I can’t wait to read your book on all this inside, “behind the scenes” info you are sitting on!

Jeez. That doesn’t sound good at all. I hope the league doesn’t fail, but their lack of action/information this year has not been promising.

Clown show. I don’t understand why anyone would care about CPL soon.
