Patriots are not going perfect and if some sportsbook did actually list them at evens to win the Superbowl there would be a fun on banks from people withdrawing to bet the field

Ya, the Peterson to Pats rumor has been going on all week. Curious to see what he does as it will be an indication of how much he thinks he has left in him. A Pats deal would be the typical redemption year contract at 1-2 mil, with a comsiderably higher second year option. He can do the Revis thing with a comeback year, possibly get a ring, and then sign one final 2 or 3 year deal from a bottom barrel team next offseason. If he maximizes what he can get now, it would seem he knows his body is just toast. At his age and mileage, he probably wouldnt get a massive contract next year even with a comeback year, but could probably squeeze 10mil in guaranteed money out of someone.

Funny how the Romo trade talk basically just went away. Jones announcing they would trade Romo, expecting throngs of teams to jump up and pay that much for a 38 year old walking injury, and also give a decent return? Jones trying to do his buddy a favor and keep his contract, but seems that is only going to happen in Dallas. Back to releasing or keeping him.

I saw something about Fox offering Romo a contract to join their broadcast as an analyst. Might be a better option for him instead of sitting on the bench somewhere.

He will not go anywhere to sit on the bench as he will want to start. I agree though a guy that's undergone multiple back surgeries should probably call it a career and take the easy money from Fox. In 2013 he suffered a herniated disc. 2014 he fractured the transfers process in his back in two places. In 2016 he fractured a vertebra. It's kind of crazy he's even contemplating returning given he couldn't even make it out of preseason last year.

Hightower is visiting the Steelers, per Schefter. Don't want to get my hopes up, he's probably just driving up the price a bit and still goes back to the Pats ... but man, Hightower/Shazier would be unreal. Fingers crossed.

Hightower visited the Jets before the Steelers...seems it is down to the Pats, Jets and Steelers.

Seahawks sign Lacy. From Beast Mode to Feast Mode. 5.5M (3.6 guaranteed) on an overweight RB with a history of health problems doesn't really seem like a great idea to me.

AP is almost certainly still thinking he's worth $10+ million a season. Come July, he'll be lucky to get what Lacy got.

Well, his reaction to the entire child abuse fiasco shows he might be a little obtuse.

Pride always messes with you too. He was supposed to make $18 million before the Vikes declined the option. Tough to all of a sudden be looking at making 70% less at best.

Saints reportedly making contract negotiations with Malcolm Butler. He's visiting tomorrow. I guess those saying the Cooks deal wasn't quite done yet may be right..

Mike Williams ran somewhere between 4.52 and 4.55 40 at Clemson's pro day, so I'm prepared to eat my words.
