The CTV news ads. First, why do you have to advertise the news? Secondly, no, you probably dont know everything there is to know about whatever city you happen to drop a reporter into. And finally, the last line '...we get the real story, and then we go further.'
What? Isnt the 'real story' the story? Isnt that it? If you go further then the 'real story' I think at that point you are just making stuff up.
'The real story was an accident happened. Two cars crashed into each other..but we went further...it was aliens'

I think they're selling a motion detection system in that particular example, though they offer many things in that vein, but that's just as stupid.
1. Does any parent tell their kids they're wrestling anymore? This isn't 50's television. If the kids are old enough to ask questions or be suspicious, they probably already have at least a very basic understanding.
2. Lock the door perhaps? If there's a problem, put on you pants and go check it out. And if it's a real emergency your going to have to leave the room anyway. The kids barging in isn't going to make anything easier or faster. Their not going to be dragging in injured bodies to save valuable seconds.
3. Who would spend a bunch of money just to delay the facts of life talk? Those awkward situations are almost a right of passage for both parties involved. Your a parent, your privacy will be nearly zero. Just teach your kids to respect privacy as they age and be prepared for some awkward moments when they are young. Well, there will be awkward moments later too, just the other way round. Haha.
