But I can't figure out the point of the branding.
Why do it and why there?
It makes no sense to me, other than to show commitment to the "cause" I guess.

the producer was on the after show, explained that it helped the kids get desensitized to violent acts.

So it was showing commitment to the cause.

So the episode tomorrow night is the second last of the season.
Looks like it might be big.
From imdb, the plot line for the last episode of the season:

Overall I have to say that its been a very entertaining season. Good pace, good story, good introduction of new characters interspersed with interacting with the established one.
Its showing signs of new life.

I agree, it's certainly been an improvement over the previous season. We need more Negan though. His arc has been the most interesting of all the characters this season.

The pacing has been significantly better with no filler episodes. Doing a much better job of weaving multiple story lines in one show.

My guess is that they’ll turn to Negan to help plan/lead the counter attack. Fight crazy with crazy

Wow, that was intense. The Whisperers aren't f***in' around.
I agree, they're gonna have to get Negan's help with this one. Also, I have a feeling that Carol is gonna go medieval on Alpha before this is all over.

That's one way to thin out the cast budget. I'm sure Danai wanted a raise since she's the principle lead now. But obviously losing Andrew and Lauren (is she ever coming back? Are they ever going to deal with her character? Will she be killed in an off-screen incident? seriously...) helped to reduce their budget some.
I'm extremely happy that Tara is gone. I can't remember a single memorable moment she added to the show or good character trait she displayed. Annoying character from moment one. So glad to not ever have to watch her again.

I'm thinking that we're going to get a scene in the next episode where Carol is cutting her hair back to it's fighting length.
What a great episode! I think its been a pretty strong season so far. I was hoping for more from The Highwaymen but what a way to go down, and I think that the elimination of Tara is good from both the angles of: she was a bit annoying, but also that now that Hilltop has lost Jesus and Tara they're going to be in complete disarray and likely the weak link in the war to come.
And I have to be happy that Henry is gone. What an annoying character, but its the impetus that is going to inspire the King and Carol to pull out all the stops.

Watching with my wife, she says to me "How are they going to know where the border is?" Well done, writers. Finale should be off the hook.

Hahahaha, that was just too awesome. I'd like to re-name that episode "The Purge". If the writers came to me and asked "What two characters would you really like to see get knocked off", Tara and Henry would be at the very top of that list in big bold, underlined letters.
However......did I really miss something or was that, in fact, Alpha, walking around wearing a seamless face transplant?

It was her face, she scalped the blonde chick and wore her hair around.
Yeah don't get me started on that......
