This deal contains neither the term not the dollars Bennett will be seeking.

Could be a contentious arbitration but I'm thinking more and more that Bennett will just end up being traded prior to his hearing.

Unless another team is willing to meet Bennett’s ask why would they inherit the arb case?

If he's traded prior to his hearing then the new team can sign a deal outside of arbitration.

I think the Compheer deal in Colorado boxed him in the most. 4 years at 3.5M for a higher point per game rate in recent seasons, similar age.

Not stated but that's probably the reasonable ceiling he can argue for cap comparables and a 3 year term brings him to free agency.

Flames are probably looking for another 2 year term at or below the dollar figure he's at now.

I still think Nick Ritchie is the closest comparable to Bennett and I wouldn't be very interested in paying him any more than be makes now.
