JOSI SIGNS 30M DEAL WITH CANES
The Carolina Hurricanes announced today the signing of holdout UFA defenceman
Roman Josi to a 3 year 30M deal. The deal makes Josi the highest paid player in the CPHL history.
Josi had established himself as the best defenceman in the league for the 2020 season, so it was little surprise that the rearguard was looking to cash in on his status. Cash in was exactly what he did as seconds after the leagues window had opened for the Hurricanes to negotiate with the defender. The Carolina Hurricanes sent Josi a blank cheque.
It was beloved initially that Josi had declined the Canes lucrative offer but later re-considered his decision and signed with the Canes with a couple conditions. It is rumored that Josi wanted the GM to remove one the teammates that had divided the teams dressing room last season. The other condition is believed that Josi has submitted a one team no trade list. Although the team Josi had submitted as his no trade is still unknown it's highly believed to be the New York Islanders
