Not necessarily. Jarome and his family still own a home right next to his parents home, outside of Kelowna. It's only a 1 hour flight so maybe that's close enough to Calgary.

I can dream...

Umh, if CSEC wants to get an arena done, they should sign Iginla immediately. The fan support would sky rocket, and Nenshi would lose the election by a wide margin. CSEC could have Iginal publically endorse whatever candidate offered them the best arena deal, and he or she would win by a very wide margin. Nenshi could then be hired as chief custodian at the new building.

It worked out pretty well for Roger Clemens. Olympics might be a good opportunity to get in shape.

For Iginla and his family home is Boston. Not Calgary

Now with Pastrnak signed, it appears the Bruins have about $3.5 mil in cap space. Now let's see if they hand Iginla a contract.

They did not want to re-sign Iginla before, not sure why they would now.

Yes they did - they did not have the ability to due to their cap restrictions - Iggy has openly commented on this before.

Exactly. Iggy had a fantastic season and most of his salary that year was in bonuses which were deferred to the cap the following year. That made it impossible to re-sign him.

Yes but that was a very different Bruins team than the current one. Does anyone think the Bruins are even a playoff team let alone a contender? The management has to know signing a declining Iginla is not going to change that.

Friedman thinks Iginla may move into an NHLPA position alongside Parros.

What I think several fans would like to know is how much does Meehan and Iggy think he is still worth. Sure I would love to see the Flames to bring Iggy back on a 3rd-4th line roll and perhaps 2nd unit PP duties.
But I don't think Iggy is willing to be a 3rd-4th line min player and I would not want to see the Flames commit anymore then $2m on a 1 year deal.

If he plays again this season, I doubt he makes more than $2 mil no matter where he goes. It may be laced with a few bonuses though but I doubt the base contract goes above $2 mil.

Iginla is a league minimum player. Only the Kings wanted him last year, and that was with retention by the Avs. No one wants Iginla.

Well my guess is that wherever he signs this Fall - if anywhere - he'll be playing with the Oilers in March for the chance to end his career with McDavid on the ice and Gretzky in the office.
